right now everyone is placed based around their FFR Level almost automatically for sorting a bit

Obviously preliminary predictions that need to be taken with a grain of salt.

D1 - No idea, don't really know any D1 players. I'll just say Charmoeleon cause he's the only name I've seen before.
D2 - Much the same as D1, I'll just say beeattack.
D3 - Judging by a quick glance over some profiles, I'll say soramimi or maybe Red Blaster.
D4 - Tough call here but I'm going with either Xtreme2252 or basicdrummerman (Underdog is v0lcom, purely judging by his 'What I Look Like Playing FFR' vid on his profile).
D5 - So many people to choose from. Of course I'd like to say myself but Zerkrome, Sansath, happyhardcor3 or axith stand out for me.
D6 - There's so many big names in D6, going to be some tight competition. I honestly think it will come down to pattern types. Going to say Remedy, rushy, s2k, Haku, YoshL, lofty, FFR pro, awein, shit I dunno, can't you all win?
D7 - You guys are just gods, always a joy watching this division. Maybe samurai, OWA, etienne, TC or Zenith.

It also seems that whenever an OT is announced, 500 people that I've never seen or heard of before just appear on the dashboard and destroy everyone.

Placements haven't even started, you guys lmao. People were just thrown into divisions because it's better than corralling everyone into D1. You can expect a more detailed assessment of division placement after signups are concluded, or near concluded.

As for overall predictions, lets seee:
D1: Brubster or Nighdragon (they're my friends, so rootin for u baes).
D2: I think Renrane has the capacity to skillboost AF this tournament. Very high AAA to FC ratio at such a low skill rating. Showing some potential there.
D3: MKIIPro, calling it now.
D4: I believe in basicdrummerman if he makes D4. Bit of derust, but you can do it.
D5: botchi/sunfan/Aragaki
D6: Remedy, awein, me
D7: Etienne, smartdude (I belief in you)
