Trouble Hardware (and please explain)

I think it might be helpful if people post any kinds of computer hardware or peripherals they've had actual hardware problems with (the hardware itself is at fault) so perhaps others can make better informed purchasing decisions.

List the hardware you've had troubles with, being as specific as possible as to the exact hardware and problem, list any solutions that worked for you (if applicable) - for example firmware update, and optionally give general thoughts about it.

This is NOT a software issues thread. It would be nice if this could be made into a sticky.

I will start:

ASUS Motherboard. Specifically M2V-MX.
Problems: Capacitor plague/bad capacitors/bad caps -- most of the capacitors are blown out a bit, oozing, or crooked.
Broken AM2 heatsink bracket -- because this part was made of cheap plastic rather than metal, at some point the plastic hinges weakened and broke on their own.
Proprietary hardware -- some of the included cables which should be usable on other motherboards aren't and there isn't a good reason for this, thereby making these cables useless once this motherboard breaks -- standard cables can be used with this motherboard so there was no good reason to include proprietary ones with nonstandard lockouts.

PNY flash drives Specifically Attache, both swivel design and sliding design.
Problems: Upon insertion into a USB port, thumb drive immediately starts heating up and at some point is no longer recognized by computer. Upon removal at this point it is found to be very hot. Using a USB extension cable does not resolve the issue. Issue was found to exist in both designs and in multiple tested flash drives. Flash drives I have from other companies work perfectly fine and don't have this issue. IMO there is no excuse for this bad of QA.

Dynex "USB TO PS/2" Despite the name, this is actually a PS/2 to USB converter so you can use PS/2 keyboards or mice with a computer that only has USB ports.
Problem: Bad lag. While this product technically works, you won't want to use it for gaming or if you expect fast typing response times.

Corsair H60 CPU Cooler (self contained liquid cooling unit)
Problems: Started leaking internally after the first week of use. Many others have had this issue as well. Bad units can be RMAd, but I suggest not buying Corsair at all for self contained liquid cooling. I have an Antec brand unit that cools more effectively and is not known for leaking.
