I can probably fix 2~3 more A's, but the rest are way out of my range at this point

I saw that on Amazon as well and Amazon claimed that shipping to Canada is only an extra 8 dollars on top of the list price. Would've brought the total to ~$60. Turns out it can't be shipped here and the same tablet on Amazon in Canada is $180. I got myself the CTH-480 and it's pretty awesome, but I wish I was able to pick up the 471.

Does anyone have any tips for getting better? q_q

I used to play a lot and could play -decently-, but I find it very hard to focus long enough to S a song ._. I took a break for about a year, just started up again but I feel like I've hit a wall in terms of getting better.

Pretty much anyone can tell you this, but it all comes down to practice. Personally, I find that just having fun with the game is the best way to get that practice in =P Be sure to try songs that are slightly out of your comfort zone at times in order to challenge yourself.

Also I don't know if this will help you, but try making a conscious effort (or more of a conscious effort) to follow your cursor with your eyes. It might help to focus on where each individual note/slider is.

Oh yeah. Dropping by to post a score.
First AR10 FC on Standard. Only took me a little over 20k games played \:3/

@Gundam-Dude: Nice single digits on A's. I will never be able to do that xd

I just recently got my hands on CTL-470 (same thing as CTL-471 but without the touch features) and coming from the CTL460 and CTL-480, this one is like a hybrid of both and is a hell lot better. Since I use default tablet area, it was nice how improved the default area was on the CTL-470. I immediately got used it and noticed that my aim got a lot better. I think what really made more of the difference was the pen. Same thickness as the CTL-460 pen but lighter so I was able to move more freely.

CTH-480 tablet size is amazing for jumps but imo, it does not go well with the pen it comes with because it is way too light and makes it harder to control if you get nervous or sweat easily. I recommend using a heavier pen for the CTH-480. Now, if you plan on getting a CTL-470 (or CTL-471), you have a high recommendation from me. This is just my thought of it so take it with a grain of salt.

Visit my profile and scroll down to the "how to improve your skill/advice" section and read it. I am pretty positive that there is a lot more you could do to get better!

EDIT: @kjwkjw: Holy shit, that HD+HR score. I do not think I have ever seen you play HR so that was a huge shocker for me o.o

Been seeing a lot of people asking how to get better, so thought I'd post something that helped me quite a bit actually. I came across this video one day from NoClue aka Clueless Gaming. I'm a mouse player myself so a lot of his advice helped me a ton! But he touches on general tips and strategies as well for all playstyles. He covers some pretty helpful reading techniques and he talks about some "shortcuts" you can take that make a lot of difficult maps easier to understand and hit. One of the biggest things that helped me was actually decreasing my mouse sensitivity in-game, I used to think I needed it higher to hit better but I actually became more accurate with a lower setting (atm I have it at 1.00x I used to use like 1.8 or something XD). Anyway here's the video:

http://youtu.be/afSDFmADbJc

Hope it helps some of y'all, because it helped me a lot!

The only thing I don't like about the CTL-470 is that the pen nibs grind down way too fucking easily—so much as dragging it across the tablet multiple times grinds the tip like pencil lead, when the CTL-460 pen nibs are way more resilient and sturdy.

got slider breaks on both of these but more rank fixes !!

now the only A's remaining are the ones I literally can't touch or have the worst mental blocks ever

Yeah, that is definitely a big issue I also have when it comes to the CTL-470 pen. I just got my tablet two days ago and I am already seeing signs of wear. I am starting to believe that they lighten the nibs on the ctl-470 a bit to reduce the amount of scratches left on the tablet after each nib use.

Also, nice accomplishments Patrick. I hope you end up fixing those slider breaks.

I finally reached 97% on this! If I could just time that whole stream midsection, I would get around 98% :<

Accuracy is meh but first FC with HDHR.

This was pretty awesome for me! I could improve accuracy easily but it is really hard to combo xd

I have not played this in a while. I was surprised how badly I beat my old score. I could probably FC this soon.

Perhaps one day I will get this o.o

Thank you! That's great advice. I will admit to having a habit of playing the same songs over and over because I like the music, but I've been trying to not do that lately either ;-;

Thank you, I appreciate it! I'll definitely give it a look once I get off of my school network. They like to block everything and the osu website is blocked for me (they randomly stopped blocking FFR though so I don't really know whats going on here.)

TABLET TODAYYYYYYYYYYYY (hopefully, otherwise I will cry because it's Friday and if I don't see it today, I likely won't see it until either Monday, or Saturday but I'll be clogged with schoolwork)

Oh snap, I hope your tablet ends up coming today AJ! I can not wait to see your tablet scores :3

Welp, I got another speed boost. I definitely understand how to gain speed now. This was pretty ridiculous lmao xD

This map was pretty tricky (mainly because of the doubles). So happy, I FC'd though! :>

Wow, this would have been pretty sick. I missed on a random note somewhere in the beginning D:

I can probably SS this now. Accuracy is still pretty good :3

I'm hype, haha. I'm actually going to revisit the two songs + difficulties that I was working hard to pass back when I was playing mouse + keyboard -- Atom Smasher (Advanced) and Calamity Fortune (Hard) to see how I'm doing in comparison to before. I have a feeling that I'm gonna have a much easier time, but you never know.

Double post since this forum is empty and I do want to draw some attention with this post: is there any sort of hangout for the osu! players that hang out on FFR?

Was just wondering, haha.

I looked through osu!'s forums; though there are plenty of mentions of FFR in some comments, there doesn't seem to be any thread specifically for it.

good luck !! can't wait to see your scores~~

really nice speed @ Dear You Byron, AR10.3 and long and frequent streams .. ;w;
also sick accuracy on Kyun Kyun, get dat SS ! ! !

solid accuracy imo, nearly nailed the streams.. I screwed up in the beginning and ending though haha :L

this score doesn't look very pretty, but I managed to combo all of the streams.. it's really hard for me to believe that this might actually be FC'able for me in the near future xD

Thanks Zyph! That mad machine miss count literally blows my mind. How you do that is beyond me xd

I remember back several months ago when I was not able to S this map. I tried it today with HR and look what happened.
