Re: Bluexoon Megapack 2
Yay someone finally stepped LWXI
Of course you need would be better if he actually stepped the 32ndz in that one part, that's what makes the solo file better IMO :< |

Re: Bluexoon Megapack 2
So far, I'm liking a lot of what I'm playing. All About Us was probably the most impressive in terms of what I was expecting to what I got, but Bob's files were really fun and I liked some of the other ones too.
Review coming up soon. Nice to see some counterprogramming to DCP! |

Re: Bluexoon Megapack 2
full review
Thanks Thanh <3 full review coming up. 0X1311 (Synexi)- Fits the song very well—it’s hard when it needs to be and calm when the song’s chill. And it’s absolutely a joyride the entire song through. all about us (Torsann aka dude who stole XOX's file)- Wow, this really surprised me. I was expecting ‘normal emo file with misplaced 16ths that go to nothing’, but this was great, other than the misplaced quads and hands. You should have made only the cymbal crashes hands. Still, simple and fun—awesome job! Arabian Rave Night (Trance Core)- I liked the colored notes in this, but the rest really felt like it was missing something. Jump placement, perhaps? Aztec Templing (Scylax)- Other than Rebirth’s 10-year old chart for this, this was pretty easy and generic…well Standard was anyway. Black Apple (Buizel)- I didn’t get a chance to play it all the way through, but from what I played it was probably your best file to date. The Second Attack (Synexi)- Fun as hell, but minus points for looping. Border of Life (XOX)- Easily your best file in here, except for the 4-measure stream that popped up like 506 times and then you’d just suddenly go to 8th notes. I really want to like your files (and sometimes I do!) since you do so much cool stuff but it’s always little things like these that irk me to no end. That’s a nitpick to what is otherwise a great file. Chokehold (NTM + trumaestro)- Sorry, I really don’t like this song. Quit out in the first 20 seconds. Death Moon II (buizel)- I liked this a lot, except for the jacks at the end which don’t fit at all with the rest of the file’s difficulty. Still, though, fun. DMG Guitar (Synexi vs Kommi)- Fun. I liked how you layered in all the little nuances to the song; that’s what shapes a truly great sim. ELECTRICAL PARADE (moches)- My file. I won’t say anything, but I released fixes. End of The Moonlight (Thanh)- First time, it was disappointing, but I played it again and loved it, other than the odd missing 16th or hand-jump that felt like it should have been layered to fit. Far From Home (Cyrenics)- Fit the song, but I really don’t like files like this that have <3.5 taps a second. Feelings From The Air (Legacy)- I enjoyed this. Your best file, I’d say. Those minifreezes on the 12ths were not needed though, and you stopped stepping the bass drum during the calm part once. Frozen Bond (Mr. Bob)- Challenge was pretty fun. Those trills are just right at this speed. Just one thing: does that mean that this song isn’t 130 BPM, or is this just a different version? Fury of the Storm (NTM)- Best file I’ve played for this song yet, but some rhythms feel off (even though they’re close enough) and there’s this really ****ing annoying pattern in the middle of the song where you’re hitting trills with left notes every other 16th and it feels really awkward. Still, dude, kudos on finally making a decent chart for this song. Herbie Goes Ballistic (yotipo91)- Quit out at the wall of 24th jumps, but everything before that was fairly entertaining. Kickflip (Synexi)- I must say…excellent job on everything. The song would definitely warrant a good file, and you nailed it. Lawn Wake XI (Scylax)- Your best file in this pack. Is it just me, or did some parts feel off? I dunno…anyway, decently fun and technically average. Even though it's Flashbulb so I was obligated to quit out in the first minute. Little Drummer Punk Droid (moches)- My file. Seriously, this is probably the best sync job I’ve ever done. I won’t say anything about the file except that the first 40 seconds are really ****ing cool. Marmalade Reverie (Mr. Bob)- This was very cool. I liked how you layered everything and still made the file seem really chill and simple. One of my favorites in this pack. Mei (Scylax)- Something was missing from this. I don’t know what. Please learn to place jumps. I almost quit out of the beginning because of how confused I was. The part after that was cool, rest of the file wasn’t. Mendes (ddrace)- Standard is really good, especially since I’m not a great indexer. Fun and challenging to boot. Midnight (Roar)- One of those files where you know it’s probably technically correct, but you don’t give a **** since you’re having such a blast. I really liked this; this is easily your best file. Great song choice, good climax, and a fun mash at the end. Probably not a 14 though, low 13 or high 12. Final Destination (rshadow aka buizel vs the real buizel)- Good file. Nothing notable, other than the rhythm near the end which is really friggin’ fun to tap out. My Happy Overheat (trumaestro)- Sorry, this song and steps aren’t really the kind of stuff I’m into. Quit out. Of Course You Need Cheese (Synexi)- Seriously, I loved this. Like Synexi (aka Kommisar)’s best file or something. Right up there with Cosmic Orchestra imo. One of the best of the pack. Over the Rave (trumaestro)- I know what you were aiming for with this, but I didn’t really like this file. Too jack happy for my tastes. Owni (Kommisar)- Decent file, but seems like I have a very short attention span or I just don’t like this song because I quit out. Perfect Blue (Kommisar)- Awesome, perfectly stepped etc. Play This In Audiosurf (Torrent)- I didn’t know that the entire jump part would be so fast, so I played with x2 and got my ass raped. I might try this again later. Popo Runaway (yotipo91)- Pretty fun at the beginning, but too repetitive and I had to quit out near the end. Promised land (Torrent)- Honestly way too repetitive to be fun. Quit out a third of the way through. Pure Ruby (Cyrenics)- Plagued with bad jump usage, but freezes were pretty good and file was all in all decent. I might play this again if you fixed some of the jumps. REAL (Mr. Bob)- I get why some people are pissed because of the hand abuse at the beginning, but without it the file would be easy and boring as hell. Nice job making a solid chart out of a not-so-solid song. Shanghai Alice of Meiji 17 (Trance Core)- Something didn’t feel right about this. I don’t know what. Ska de Chocobo!! (trumaestro)- Okay file. The jacks break the flow though, and Ossa syndrome makes the file hard to read at the end. Sora iro 8-bit (Noon)- Good file, but I really hate 32nd rolls. Song’s fault, though, not yours, and for what the song had to offer you did a respectable job. The Air I Breathe (buizel)- OMG THIS FILE IS THE BEST ONE IN THE PACK I MEAN IT FITS THE SONG PERFECTLY The Illusionist (XOX)- Honestly, I just don’t like all of the freezes in this file. Maybe I’d like this better if you took the short ones out. The Sound of Truth (NTM)- Seems like a pretty understepped file imo. Should be a 10, MAYBE a low 11. The layering was pretty creative—I’m impressed by your jump usage in this. Good beginner chart. The Strong Jaeger (Synexi)- First decent chart I’ve played for this song. I’ll play this again. The Warrior Inside (NTM)- I’m not a big fan of these minijack 16th and 24th stream solo files. Quit out at wall of 24ths. Toho Mathematics (Sacred Insanity)- File was really cool up to the big wall of 32nds that seem to reverse suddenly for no reason. From now on, I’ll always quit out at that part since the rest of the file is so sweet. Torch (yotipo91)- Once again, I really don’t like easy files unless they’re creative enough to keep me playing. This wasn’t it. Tuesday Bluesday (moches)- My file. Probably one of my best (at least that’s what everyone says). Did I mention I really like this file too? Twinkle Twinkle Wittle Stars (Noon vs Kommi)- Challenge was amazing. Not like epic, but unbelievably fun. Type L’egoist (XOX)- After hitting the same 2 measures 12378 times and holding 4th note freezes with 8th note drumbeats forever, I quit out. Not a bad file, just pretty generic. overall: Definitely a really good pack. An assload of fun files with some bad ones thrown in, but we all have our off days, don't we? Comparing the ratio of what we got to what we expected, I'd put Xoon2 at 3:2. Considering DCP was 4:5, that's not too shabby at all! (This is a measure of hype, not a measure of quality. DCP is still superior to this.) I'll be playing this pack quite a bit. favorites Of Course You Need and Need and Need Cheese Midnight Marmalade Reverie Tuesday Bluesday (ohi) Kickflip All About Us End of the Moonlight |
