MLG Providence?

Major League Gaming's finals for the 2011 season is going to be in Providence, Rhode Island!

This just happens to be less than 20 minutes from where I live (holy shit something important in Rhode Island?) and I'm totally going to be there! There's going to be the SC2, Halo Reach, Black Ops and League of Legends finals. I figure some FFR folks follow pro gaming and live in the area, so I figured I'd post and see who else is going to be there. I have a feeling Chauster might be attending, but he could be too busy winning the entire LoL tournament which is definitely something I'm gonna check out if it happens. (Go Chauster~)

Anyway as far as I know it's going to be at the convention center, which is right in the heart of the city. Providence is basically less than 2 hours drive from anywhere in Massachusetts or Connecticut, and it's still even a reasonable drive from other states in New England. Additionally it's about a 10 minute walk from the train station which services the entire region.

I know Providence pretty well (I've lived here my whole life zzz) and if there's a small group of FFR people who want to meet up I know some good places to eat in the area and stuff. This is however my first MLG event so even if you can't come I'd love some tips from any MLG veterans on how I can enjoy it more!

It's going to be held Nov. 18-20 (conveniently on the weekend) and spectator passes are nowhere near selling out yet. I did already get mine though, might as well get it in advance. Spectator pass is $25, $20 if you have a MLG gold account.

Anyway just wanted to post to see if anyone else from FFR is planning on attending. Hopefully we can get a small group of like-minded nerds and watch some epic pro gaming ^_^

p.s. Shash most likely isn't going to be there, in case you were wondering. I haven't talked to him in years and regardless I don't think he was ever into pro gaming.

Doesn't Shash show up randomly to gaming events? I thought he was at Anime Boston last year or something like that.

P.s. I'd go if my birthday didn't fall right in between the set dates.
