Re: To my graffiti post.
I clicked on your link before reading your post.
I looked at it for a good whole minute or so trying to figure out what it said. Then I read your post and realized I still got it wrong. This is why I don't like graffiti. |

Re: To my graffiti post.
The A is taller than the rest of the letters which doesn't help when trying to read it.
Colours green blue black and yellow

Re: To my graffiti post.
Really? What did you think it said? I try and make my graffiti more on the legible side, because I don't like graffiti that's impossible to read either.

Re: To my graffiti post.
I read what it was, but it still took me a good 20 seconds to see it even though I knew what it was. But then again, I don't read much graffiti.
It looks awesome, though. |

Re: To my graffiti post.
It didn't help that the "D" has a lower extension that makes it look like "P", and then the "E" is drawn at a lower level than the rest of the letters. It's easier if the words were aligned straight. I mean, they can still look "squished" and whatnot, but you typically read from left to right, not left to right and up and down.
It's hard to figure out which part of the letters are the important ones I need to discern the word properly. Recognizing the "D" only requires me to look at the top half of the letter, as that downward extension is distracting. Recognizing the "E" however requires me to look at the whole letter, and thus appears twice as large as the "D". I guess to summarize, there are elements in that graffiti that are distracting me from recognizing the word. The only letter I recognized right away was the "M". |

Please don't. Defacing other peoples property is not art.

Re: To my graffiti post.
and on this note, i respectfully disagree.
i mean, some people may look at graf and see a bunch of illegible letters and crazy colors, and dismiss it as "not art." and while i disagree with tagging private property (i.e. homes, cars, fences, etc.) graf on public property is just publicly displaying your imagination, creativity and skill (whether it's good or not depends on the artist). "Art - The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture." |

You're dumb and fooling nobody but yourself if you believe violating "publicly" will justify vandalism, and expressing "human" creative skill and imagination does in no way walk hand in hand with having to do it against the law to get maximum attention, and position, especially when the majority of people are against it. I love graffiti, but ruining what does not belong to you simply because you, directly, are not the one paying to have it removed, or the wall raised in the first place, but personal organizations or tax contributors, and based on your preference on where graffiti should be, is wrong. And I disrespectfully disagree with you. Sometimes different opinions is valid, based on different point of views with generally valid points, but sometimes it's just wrong; you're the latter. That piece in particular is O.K as a sketch, but is at no point close to being at the level of which graffiti is considered art and a pleasure to peoples eyes rather than grey walls.

Re: To my graffiti post.
Who gives a shit if you call it art or not? And who gives a shit if other people think graffiti is "right or wrong". That stuff doesn't really matter. What matters is that graffiti is fun! Do what you can, do what you want and don't get caught! Whatever you do, do it with heart!
