How do you hit an average?
I can't hit them... at least, not usually. What's the best way to get averages (for the 2 av anti-skill tokens, and, I guess, the bullcrap one which requires 15 more avs than goods)?

Re: How do you hit an average?
Thank you, kind sir, for your very helpful and constructive recommendation on the method of hitting an average in FFR. =)
However, you appear to insult me, by assuming that I'd not have already searched for 3 hours for a previous topic that discussed hitting averages, and thus, I retort with a mild expletive to describe your nearest family member.

How about get better at hitting them then? That's pretty easy advice to follow.

Re: How do you hit an average?
Of course it's simple advice to follow, except that I obviously asked what the best way to get better at hitting them would be. Thus, you could just answer that question, and be done with the whole topic.
To Dreamscanner: I still get like 3 times more goods than averages. What point before the frame should I hit? Should I use speed mods? Dark? These are the things I need to know. Thank you! =D

Re: How do you hit an average?
These wont work, because they eliminated late averages. The only way to hit an average is to hit the note extremely early, Almost an entire notelength early.
Dark only works if you position the arrows at the top lower than you think they actually are. I'd play a couple songs, eventually you'll recognized how early you actually have to hit the notes in order to get averages.

Re: How do you hit an average?
Turning off sound is actually an excellent idea... I keep going in tune to the music, really throws me off. Thank you!
Should I stick with my normal 3x mod, or slow it down? Did it make a difference for any of you? Anyway, I'll play later and figure out how averages work. I have to beat Kirisame's Final B on Hard on Touhou 08: Imperishable Night now. I'll tell you all how I did later. Thanks again!

Re: How do you hit an average?
Blah, in my own experience, I try to play tricks with my mind. Do a "Reverse" screen cut. Put the window in such a way that it cuts off the target arrows by a bit and pretend that the targets sit exactly UNDER the line at which your window cuts them off (pretending dark is on). Thus, when you hit the arrow when it comes up you'll record an average. I'm working on a window that will allow you to do this and will make a thread about it.

Re: How do you hit an average?
I just hit it when the top of the arrow in question just touches the bottom of the hollow arrow.

Re: How do you hit an average?
Use 1.5x, turn off the sound, and cover the floating arrows with some... er... paper? ... make the paper go just a little under the floating arrows, and just hit the arrows as soon as they touch the paper... well, that's what i've done to get all the average skill tokens and it works well for me ^^

Re: How do you hit an average?
Hehe, I like the screencut idea. I'll try that when I get home later. ^_^
Btw, J129 (utter crap mix) is the most annoying song to play with headphones... Jumps from ear to ear, it's like having an earrape-seizure. Off topic, but just saying.
