Re: Okay..?
People make accounts and name it after their school.
Persons Name just becomes School Names. I doubt it's the school and just some kid who can't get friends trying to be something that'll get friends. |

Re: Okay..?
Well, I'm not surprised about this at all. I hear stories all the time of schools getting involved in networking programs to monitor student activity and make sure nothing bad is going on. My school made several "fake" accounts and tried to add people at one point, but it ended up failing because no one knew these people from school.
If you use a Facebook, there are networks for schools, classes, and clubs. Some teachers even have Facebooks and add their students although that seems to be a bit creepy to me. But yay for those who don't use these sites. ~Tsugomaru

But why would you add someone you don't know in the first place? |

Re: Okay..?
Wow. I've never heard of that before.
My school's had a history with students registering as principals and organizations - the former being without permission and the latter with permission. I've never actually heard of the school itself registering AS the school though. |

Re: Okay..?
I don't have a Myspace or Facebook so I wouldn't know, but I'm willing to bet that there are some people who will add anyone who makes a friends request to them out there.

Re: Okay..?
Haha, thats kinda weird, I've knowen teachers back when I was in school to havetheir own personal Myspace/Facebook
Me. But thats because I dislike Myspace, rarely use it so I really couldn't care. Only thing I use properly is Facebook and that will only have people I know on it. |

Re: Okay..?
i dont see anything strange about it O-o;;
theres an account for my school and it adds every student who signed up to myspace, so we can find each other on the friendslist and talk. thats basically it, no lifeless kid behind it getting friends, its just a way to find other people from school edit; refer to post above. lmfao

Re: Okay..?
Err.. I guess you all didn't know that schools get their own forum on Myspace.. not sure how you go about signing up to make one, but it's not like a profile. It's a page, there's a section for current students, alumni, rate teachers, and a forum. Even though mine is completely dead.
