I mean think of how some people might feel who had played through advanced, went out on Air (but could AAA silence), only to find out that someone from intermediate was moved up into the final 5 just because they could do the song better.

You shouldn't be able to pick and choose what songs you are best at and swap around divisions.
I think if the song is one number difficulty higher or more, you should be able to switch divisions UP provided that you stay in that division the remainder of the tournament. Of course you would have to still compete. I think it's fair, considering I was placed in Intermediate. Maybe one day I'll make a tourny like this.

EDIT:

Does anyone else notice how far behind I am on this song compared to the rest of my division?

It happens. It may not be misplacement on their part as much as it is a struggle on yours. Even though I will agree with you that a person should be shifted up if they can constantly AAA their division's song, it would be really unfair to shift them up now because it will affect the prize distribution.

Ok I'm definitely out in this round, I haven't gotten back any of my skill and especially not my motivation. I loved how the rounds were made shorter right in the middle of my exam period, thanks guys. This of course is my personal problem I guess I can't blame you for it. Still rather than having fun, this tournament has pretty much served only as a source of headache for me for the past couple of weeks, I'm having a race against the clock day and night while trying to cope with dozens of assignments with their deadlines and homework and trying to somehow squeeze time to play songs for a couple of every now and then (no, I few tries isn't enough, I need a lot of time to manage a decent score in this game as things are now). I will still keep trying today and maybe tomorrow but as things stand now, I'm already seeing three people who have scores that I mostly likely won't have a chance at beating, there seems to be little point.

/end of rant

ok here's a ****ty score then is at least I have something submitted

While planet karma is a great song a fun stepfile in itself, I can't understand how anyone could stand playing this for score. It's one of the most annoying stepfiles around when you need to get to whoring it.

EDIT: Also regarding my above rant, school is merely an excuse when I say I don't have to time. It still makes me lose all the possible fun I might have doing this when I get home late every day and every single second all that's flying in my head are just worries like "Oh yeah I gotta finish that report", "Oh yeah I gotta remember the homework for next class in this and this", "Oh yeah the test is coming this weekend, gotta start studying soon", "Oh yeah there's that tournament going on too, oh yeah I gotta play -that- song over and over again, god damnit".

I've never seen you rant, ha.

Planet Karma is mysterious, I was playing the song REALLY well on Saturday, left the song feeling confident that I would improve my score even further; came back on Monday, and on the VERY FIRST TRY, I found a pattern that messed me up. That is a sudden mind block, and I can't even understand how I got it. It's a shame too, I was getting ready to sup the high score board. :/

Sorry that things turned out the way they did, I'd much rather see you there in the finals, than for you to not make it.

Hm, memories come back from the official--where you made it after I whored after 780 plays on Hardkore Atomic...now I'M going to just barely make it myself. Karma has helped me after two of the worst weeks in my life. :/

Yes try to avoid ranting when possible and I apologize for being the idiot I am now but I'm seriously nearing a nervous breakdown over here. I can't take more of this song for today, I already had to give the neighboring walls a few punches to let out some of my frustration. It doesn't help either since I realize I'm only one round away from prize spots to top it all. I will give to song a few tries tomorrow but really there's nothing fun about this tourney for me now, I'm just forcing myself to play.

EDIT AGAIN: Also I understand that Phynx might be as busy as me but there hasn't single update in this round so far. I've seriously had it with this **** now. I want to at least know what I should be ****ing going for if I intend to stay in. There seriously aren't that many people left that it's such an impossiblity to do a tiny update at least once in two days.

Again, I apologize for my behavior. But this isn't about just me either.

Welcome to the prize bubble. This is the same predicament I had in the last tourney. =]

Try not to take it too harshly if you do the song poorly, or worse than you'd like to achieve, because the more frustrated you get, the faster you quit. Just go to your fridge, take a drink, put it by your computer, and play--because it will more than likely be a while. If you lose, just maintain yourself, and play it again. If you get a mind block, mirror it, or play at a higher speed so that the memory of that pattern goes away. It may be tough to keep yourself calm, but the longer you can keep calm, the more you can tolerate the song, and the more tries you will eventually have to play and beat your own score.

I agree. With the amount of people significantly less than before, there should be a lot more updates going on. It's been a bit more tense, and not in a good way...

Everyone has their moment, and this is more than likely yours. Just let it pass and move on; it's the easiest and best thing to do.
