Removing People from Friends List
You know what? If you're going to remove someone from your friends list the least you can do is let them know so they can remove you from theirs as well if they like.
It's like some people want to be on everyone's friends lists yet want to keep their own super exclusive or something. No. Doesn't work like that with me and if I find anyone pulling that stunt I'm going to remove you. No hard feelings, but simple as that because I'm not going to give free advertising of your profile via mine if you won't even do the same. I don't ask for top 16 spot. All I ask is to be on there at all, somewhere, probably near the back since my username starts with a u, if you've added me at some point (and most are people who added me). I don't mind so much the ones who don't appear to have any friends list at all for some reason, but if you have one and I'm not on it and you're on mine, expect to be purged. Is it so hard to maybe post on someone's wall like "Hey look, I'm removing you from friends list so you can do the same if you want"? So far looks like I've caught about 7 people doing that so enjoy your removal. Don't expect to get back on. |

I agree with you that they should at least let you know that they're removing you but I think this post is better off as a random thought instead of a forum post...

Re: Removing People from Friends List
But it's FFR...and it's only a friends list. It doesn't actually mean you're friends with someone.

Re: Removing People from Friends List
It seems rather silly to remove people from your FFR friends list to begin with, there doesn't really seem to be any sort of point in doing so. Since FFR has a top 16 that shows up on your profile, it really doesn't clean up anything by removing people you don't frequently talk to.
I still don't understand why when a person is removed as a friend, it doesn't remove them from your profile as a friend also.

Re: Removing People from Friends List
I don't see the point of having someone on your friends list if you don't talk to them or things of that sort.
There's those people that just want to add as many people as possible because having a large amount of friends on a website makes them feel good for some reason. |

Re: Removing People from Friends List
Consider this a request to have them mutually remove, and to have the removee be sent a message similar to the "You have a new friend!" except "You have been removed from so-and-so's friends list" or such.
This wouldn't have worked as a random thought since the type of people to whom it is directed likely wouldn't have seen it, since those are sent only to people who currently have you on their friend's lists. And I view it mostly as a way for people to advertise others' profiles, so if you want me to advertise your profile via friends list you better be doing the same. |

Re: Removing People from Friends List
What's the point of advertising a profile...do you generate revenue from the views on it or something?

Re: Removing People from Friends List
I suppose you could remove them if you aren't actively talking to them, but if they are already there why go through the trouble of removing them? I never really considered the friends list more than a person wanting to come back to my profile for one reason or another in the future. I would imagine most people who have a considerably large amount of people in their friends list just accept the requests they get and don't think much of it, it hardly warrants any sort of removing/managing importance.

Re: Removing People from Friends List
The message here is pretty simple: If someone removes you, you should at least be notified in some way. What UNGH is suggesting is to make it so if someone does remove you, you get sent a message about them removing you from their friends list.
It's similar to facebook where I would suddenly just find that someone I usually talk to is no longer on my friends list, I didn't get notified, and then I have to add them back. |
