Earthquake on the east coast.
Anyone else just feel that? I was just upstairs hangin out with the lil one when the house just starts swaying. So weird since I've never been in one before. Apparently it was felt in CT and Ny too. My mom just txt me that the epicenter was in VA 5.9

We never get Earthquakes in the UK (OK, we get ones no one can feel at all) I've always wondered what they feel like. Must be well weird.

Weeee That was fun, my grandfather clock almost fell down. :/ First earthquake I've ever been in, but Long Island didn't get it too bad at all.

This is the 1st I ever felt and I surely don't want to feel another. And we didn't exactly get hit hard lol.

Re: Earthquake on the east coast.
My uncle was about an hour and a half away from the center of the quake. No answer from him so far, so we're a little worried. >_>;
Didn't feel anything here, though. |

Re: Earthquake on the east coast.
87 miles away from DC was the epicenter in Mineral, VA. 5.9 magnitude earthquake... Was going up an escalator in a mall. I was scared shitless!

Re: Earthquake on the east coast.
I feel so dumb. My bf called me from work worried that I had gotten scared or something, and I was like, wha?, what earthquake, what's going on.
I did get kinda dizzy for a bit, so I just turned down my music a little-always listen to music too loud I mean, not like I was near the center or anything, in New Brunswick. |

Re: Earthquake on the east coast.
Hearing this was felt as far down to Atlanta and as far north towards New York. Living in VA, you should see the crowds of people leaving buildings...

Re: Earthquake on the east coast.
Yep, I am about 70 miles from the center. I was at the bottom floor of a building when forks and stuff started flying from the top. It was kinda scary, but mostly cool.

Re: Earthquake on the east coast.
I felt it in Philly. Me and my mom wondered what was the nonsense and thumping upstairs. 10 seconds later it stopped, and the people came downstairs and asked what was that thumping sound.
Based in Millersville, PA (Lancaster) this is some seismograph data. http://snowball.millersville.edu/~cw...st/current.gif http://snowball.millersville.edu/~cw...al/current.gif

I think I was FFRing at the time the earthquake hit Albany, NY hahaha. Obviously I didn't feel it, but according to both of my sisters, they did.

I felt it in Sudbury, just slight wobbles. Sudbury is damn far away, too.
