Anyone else experiencing lag?
Sometimes things go perfectly, other times the lag is HORRIBLE, to the point I only get 1 frame per arrow.
Tried different browsers, tried all Flash quality settings. This is the same computer used before FFR went down, and things worked fine then. This occurs on my laptop as well.

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
I get this as well. Yesterday I was able to play without changing any settings, on Full Quality, with a solid 30?fps and no lag spikes. But today I have to set everything to lowest possible, 16bit colour etc... before it is even remotely playable.
It's obviously a problem with how the flash player is interacting with something be it the files or the servers. Would be interesting to see what it was.

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
I experience lag mostly on my Laptop which is running Windows 7. However when I'm using my desktop which is running XP sp3 I'm fine but I'll occasionally experience a horrible lag.

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
I have this symptom where the EXACT same spot in a song will provide a nasty lag spike- as if I had never pushed an arrow at all kind of lag. Sometimes it registers as a miss/boo, but usually it just kinda jumps a frame or something.
And it ALWAYS happens at the SAME places. i.e, about arrow 13 on La Campanella. If it doesn't spike then, it does around 260.

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
Everyone with and without lag post:
- your computer specs (CPUs & Memory) - the browser you use, any AddOns or plugins you use for it - run HijackThis and post or PM me the log results. This will let me know what processes are running in the background that might send interrupts to the processor and demand attention, thus locking you out of your game.

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
PC: Windows XP Home Ed 5.1 build 2600. Pentium 4 Processor, 2.8GHz. 1.5GB DDR RAM.
Browser: FireFox 3.66 (perhaps updating 100% might fix my problems..), only really have ABP as an addon, plugins include things like adobe, flash, real player, shockwave, and the other common necessities. My processes are your normal computer processes, except I manually closed my nightly malware scans and explorer.exe. Also closed out other updaters such as DivX and anything iTunes related. Like I said, I may just need to update FireFox to the latest version. e: May also note that the game tab was the only open tab, with FireFox being the only open window and only thing in the taskbar (before I ended explorer.exe) besides Windows Task Manager.

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
I had this problem on all browsers and nothing worked and I have found a working solution.
1. Uninstall flash player (you clearly have version 10) 2. Go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ 3. It won't let you select anything under version 10 unless you say your operating system is worse than it actually is. I selected Windows ME, and then under versions, Flash 9 became available. 4. Install Flash 9 5. Run FFR 6. Enjoy lag free arrows |

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
Afraid I already use the stand alone players. They still don't improve the lag spikes. =|
It has nothing to do with computer power either, I left my PC at home (which is much more powerful than my laptop I am on now) and it lagged even more than this thing does. :[ Oh well, It's still playable at certain times of the day.

Yea that's the downside to downgrading. That's why a lot of people are using a standalone flash player. |

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
flash 10 sux with it i can play perfectly but it crashes my pc when i play ffr(no matter the os)
i downgraded to 9 and i can play ffr agn but its laggy someone needs to go over to adobe and kick them in the can for releasing flash 10 with so many compatibility problems is there anyway to get this to play nice with flash 10 as this is the only thing that theres a problem with as i dont want to always bsod whenever i get abotu halfway through a song. hate being in mid combo then interrupted. if theres any tests needed i dont mind being a guinea pig lol i tend to blow up my own pc on a daily basis anyway(i have really got to stop experimenting). Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
*cough*TURNITONLOWQUALITY*cough*
I dunno why you have to press the button 2 or 3 times, but when I set FFR to low qual, it runs 100 million times faster. And even when on high quality, it doesn't run as drastically slow as everyone says. Maybe because I'm running Ubuntu. |

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
Turning to lowest quality is a great idea but........
I wouldn't joke about using Ubuntu in place of Windows because it's more lightweight. Ubuntu is the cruftiest, most bloated linux distro there is.

Re: Anyone else experiencing lag?
I too am getting random goods/misses in almost every song I play even if there does not seem to be any lag...hmmm...just going to wait it out and see if things improve.
- Does not seem to be a spec issue as I can play UT3 on max online. lol. |
