Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Round 1 Songs
I enjoyed Truth.
Way easier than it was first rated, but it's a good file. The pink arrows to the whooshy wub sound in the start are a little weird to hit and there's occasional white arrows in the slow parts that I'm not sure what they go to, but overall its hard to complain about the file.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Round 1 Songs
Fill me up was great, but the song that surprised me the most, as counter-intuitive as it may seem, was Rainbow Road. I have yet to see another easy file as engaging as this one. Terrific song choice, to say the least. Right up there with Trisection, for my tastes.
Solid releases, I enjoyed all of them. |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Round 1 Songs
pandemonium - today marks the day where we can no longer put our trust in cornman files, because this was so bmahy it literally caused me to double take. that middle section is a huge pain in the ass to hit correctly, but feels really good once you're able to do so. having different patterns in the ending than in the beginning of the chart helps to curb mindblocks, so that was cool. only gripe I had was with the 32nds, they were pretty lel-tier. i'd give it an 8/10

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Round 1 Songs
Honestly this is exactly how I feel about the file myself. I'm really happy with the middle section and I'm glad you noticed the different patterns in the two choruses. Obviously I went overboard with the 32nds.
I give your review a 10/10. |

Fuck. That said: Division 1: Rainbow Road [nanobii] by TC_Halogen I hate this file for one reason, and while I understand why, I hate you for it nonetheless: where are the fucking rainbow notes you jackass. Jokes aside, pretty good D1 file from what I can see. Division 2: Polargeist by TC_Halogen Didn't finish this one. But it was kinda bleh? Probably just me. Division 3: Session (Ghost in the Machine Remix) by VisD Very good file. I enjoyed this one a lot. I am curious as to why you opted not to use hands anywhere, but the file is really great as it is. Just kinda curious. Division 5: Truth (xKore Remix) by Xiz and Razor Xiz asked me to play this live in call but I'll post it here anyways. It was kinda a letdown. It was a broken JS song with a really negligible middle section. tldr: it was pretty boring to me. Which is weird considering who charted it. Not saying it's a bad file, but it's just not... Engaging I think is the way I'll phrase it. The rest: N/A |

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Round 1 Songs
there's a piano roll at the end of the hand section of pandemonium, and it pisses me off that the 32nd split roll starts halfway through the actual piano roll
D4 - gameboy you have been becoming my favorite stepartist i think recently. only solidifies my opinion (A+ song choice)

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Round 1 Songs
D3s and D4s files are pretty awesome, D5s not really all that memorable but not bad, D1 song pretty sweet and easy file okay, D2s middle section had some bad pr which kinda annoyed me but file was decent, D6 has some pretty obnoxious bursts and should be rated higher than Guile of the Rime King, D7s no.

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Round 1 Songs
Weakest file imo was the Session remix. The song was pretty lackluster, which affects the file itself.
I legitimately had to quit out of Lex Cyanixs because of all the dbGlitch abuse (srsly people, lrn2glitch manually). Truth was kinda cool, although I had an issue with the kicks during the 12ths being placed on a 12th when it's actually on an 8th. Would have given the file a bit more playability, and imo, would have been less awkward. Rainbow Road and Polargeist were pretty standard low difficulty files, nothing too crazy there. Felt like Rainbow Road was just a tad bit too long. Already posted my thoughts on Pandemonium, it's tricky, frustrating, and pretty satisfying when you nail it. My favorite file would also have to be Fill Me Up With Snacky Happiness lol, cute song and a neat file to go with it. |

D3, song was boring, file suffered as a result
D2 was ok for a easier difficulty song, D1 fit alooot better with the song, and the song lends itself better for an easier file but D1 feels like pretty high up for where D1 is usually round 1 |

I'm not going to say anything else but it's not surprising in the slightest that middie's favorite file is the session remix

Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Round 1 Songs
These are opinions from one sightread playthrough, and I reserve the right to change these opinions at any time.
Rainbow Road: Loved the song. Feels like a great, happy way to start out D1, even if the file had a few tough patterns for round one. Polargeist: Pretty easy file but fairly relaxing to just listen to. Not as drum 'n bass as I was expecting. Session: The file was alright, the song was kinda boring. I had moderate success on the file, so I can't complain too much. Fill Me Up: I'm a sucker for smooth jazz and this hit the spot. Great file that I had success on and as enjoyable if not more than Yellow Leaves for me. Truth: Now is when it's out of my do alright zone. The file was dubstepped, and captured that pretty well. The song was fine, nothing too crazy. Lexus: I don't remember this one, but it was hard. I think there was a string of notes where I felt I was doing well, so that tends to indicate a well-made file in my opinion. The music I guess wasn't too memorable since I can't recall even a small section. :/ Pandemonium: It's a Xi song. Nice piano once it picks up, so enjoyable to listen to. The file was tough and had some rough bursts, so I did quite poorly. I don't think it's a bad way to start off D7. -o24
