Hey FFR...
Sorry I don't post much in these forums, and hopefully it doesn't look too bad that one of my few posts is about all about me.
Merry Christmas! And on this occasion I managed to finally tie up the loose ends on publishing my first commercial endeavor. CDBaby link It's not free, though I have free stuff on my soundcloud (as "kordelp"), so all I expect is at least some visits and maybe some first impressions on the samples. If you like it, buy it. If not, share it to someone else. I'm not trying to make serious money right now though it'd be nice. Just trying to get the word out. Thanks! And oh btw my blog. |

Nice, jazz techno. I really like some of these beats, especially New Stride. Awesome work man!

Re: Hey FFR...
Thx! And I never thought to consider some of the tracks as "jazz techno" though it may fit. What do ya know?

Seriously though, I'm enjoying the replies here. I feel that what I've done in this album is mostly non-standard and therefore is pretty much a risk. But risks are fun! :P

I appreciate your analysis. It's almost good news that you're not nicking at me for something I'm totally oblivious to. Here's to hoping I only improve from here.

Re: Hey FFR...
Cool work. Out of curiosity, what mic do you use to record your trumpet?

Re: Hey FFR...
Excuse my bump, but this is just an announcement this album is now (or has been) live on Amazon and iTunes (and many others online stores). See my blog for details and links (if you don't care for searching :P ).

Re: Hey FFR...
I think I generally agree with kgz, but you also say you need to make more of an investement in your sound library, so things might be different when you get all the stuff you want to make your music.
I am totally into the genre mixing though, and the melody and harmonization from the sample of the tracks is definitely excellent. My fav on your list is track 6 so far, very catchy, love that little intro. But, for instance, the timbre of that bass drum that comes in needs more grit to really mix the sounds together imo. It's a bit too much genre pasting instead of genre melding. Do you get some actual counter-point going on in that track later on that builds on the answer-call thing? :-p Mebbe I'll have to actually buy the thing eh Last edited by Cavernio; 01-10-2012 at 07:05 PM.. |
