Solo Vacation Ideas
Since my friends are either already in another country and or working and my brothers are unable to travel, I'm planning on spending 7-10 days somewhere overseas, by myself, this September. I've thought about the U.K. to start as something simple to get used to traveling but hell, I'm new to this whole concept of visiting other countries and want the community's opinion.
Where do YOU think I should go for a weeks worth of entertainment? Something to remember, I don't party hard, I'd be more interested in traveling beautiful landscapes, seeing old cities, castles, general historical monuments. I'm able to travel anywhere in the world. If someone is located near where I'm going, then by all that is holy, let's meet up and do some shit.

Re: Solo Vacation Ideas
Solo travel is risky, especially if you're going to foreign territory.
I'd go to straya or the alps. The UK is a good choice though if you're starting out. Italy/France is also really neat if you're into historical locations. |

Re: Solo Vacation Ideas
It is risky, but there's no one I can go with so I have to enjoy it alone /sad but oh well, I need to get out and explore. I'm not so worried of the dangers of solo travel, I'm confident in my personal security, so I "hope" to be good in that aspect. As for historical locations, I'm definitely putting Rome high on my list of options.

Re: Solo Vacation Ideas
You can try Vegas. Just go easy on the drinking if you're along. There's lots of sightseeing, but the weather is a little hot.

Re: Solo Vacation Ideas
Devonin, isn't that a bit overkill? How are you supposed to enjoy the trip if you're going through a tour-de-force between such locations?

Re: Solo Vacation Ideas
I thought of that, maybe the bahamas but it just feels too close to me. I'm looking to get far away. As I said before as well, preferably somewhere with ancient history to observe.

Re: Solo Vacation Ideas
Might I suggest a trip involving Genava, Switzerland; Paris, France; and Rome, Italy. 3-4 days in each city. I don't know if you're into spending for airfare. I knocked off so much on my bucket list for these locations when I went last year.
edit: 7 days. Maybe 2-3 days in each city. Last edited by DotKritic; 08-12-2013 at 09:05 PM.. |
