#148
It's rendering right now, gonna be another hour or two, and since I was bored waiting and had nothing better to do, I wrote a script that will automatically upload and post the rendered image in this thread.
Hope it works rofl. I was messing around in zbrush and made something that made me think of something else which led me to make this, and if you were in mp yesterday, you know what it is. I'm realllllly hoping the ice turns out ok, I wasn't really able to do preview renders of it because it took so dang long. Stupid detail. Anyway, enjoy it when it gets here, critiques are appreciated, I'm going to sleep. Re: #148
Dragonair!
It's pretty nice. But some of the other stuff you've posted has been better.

Re: #148
Fixed a few texturing issues, and changed a bunch of settings for the ice cave, but you can't see that yet, cause it takes forever to render anything translucent with ambient occlusion on.
Bit more realistic |

Re: #148
Dragonairs have little wings as ears btw.
It doesn't really feel like it's a dragonair to me. It's too glossy and the texture on it is weird. Also, the blue balls on it's neck and tail could use a different, more glass like reflection. They look like plastic balls now lol. The horn behind the head seems alot larger than the one in front of the head cause of the way the head is tilted. Maybe fix up the pose a bit?

Re: #148
The wings were left out on purpose, as this is my personal take on a dragonair.
Texturewise...I keep looking for a good snakeskin pattern, but I don't find anything that suits what I have in mind, so I'm probably going to have to just make my own alpha texture for that. I may actually bring the model back into zbrush and physically sculpt the scales into it, which could take time, but it would look amazing. And rofl the other horn is alot bigger, just forgot to resize it. Thanks spit ;D Last edited by darkshark; 12-2-2009 at 04:24 PM.. |

Re: #148
Won't bother page stretching, this render is pretty near completion, minor things to tweak which were already stated, and I'll make a version with stupid wings since alot of people have gotten on my case about it.

Re: #148
good stuff takes hours to render so i'ma quit 3d.
the only part i don't like is the background noise, you should blur that in photoshop

Re: #148
Can you decrease the gaussian blur by half? GB is good, but I feel its a little too much in this picture.

Re: #148
Nah just the settings I use take forever, when the cave isn't there it only takes 5 minutes to render, don't ever quit!
And to ghakimx, no. The focus is on Dragonair. I will however go back with photoshop and fix the grain, as I've had to do that in pretty much all of my pictures, any last minute suggestions before I attempt a final render? Last edited by darkshark; 12-4-2009 at 04:17 AM.. |

Re: #148
This is the cave without all the fancy settings and just a blue ice looking map on it, clearly not the same
but it only took 2 minutes to render, albeit at a much smaller size, it would still take a fraction of the time. Changed the rear horn size to normal, as well as relocated them a bit to make them seem more attached, changed the belly texture, changed the eye shape, made the balls more reflective like glass |
