I'm about to get my wisdom teeth out..
Hey everyone. Well, soon I'm going to be getting my wisdom teeth out. I'm only 15, which is quite rare for my wisdom teeth to be ready to be pulled out. I was wondering if anyone has any idea on whether or not I'm going to recover quicker or easier or if I'll have less pain. I have plans tomorrow that are going to be very hard to re-schedule, so I was just wondering if I'll be okay for that. No, I'm not nervous at all about it. X)
EDIT: Oh & My wisdom teeth haven't even grown in yet, if that changes anything, but they're ready to be taken out. Last edited by Vanilla Mnm; 08-28-2009 at 11:01 AM.. |

Whatever you are planning on doing tomorrow will probably not be enjoyable. You won't be able to talk or eat very well and your mouth might be throbbing.
The surgery itself is nothing because it will be numb. I guess that depends on if you do local or full anesthetics or not. It will be numb either way, but with full anesthetics you will just wake up at home or something. |

Having my wisdom tooth pulled out was one of the most painful experiences of my life. The tooth must not have been ready to be pulled out, because they gave me local anesthetics, and the pain was so strong that I went blind and deaf for a couple of seconds. |

I had mine pulled at 16. dentist said it would be easier since the roots havent began to grow yet so he just made a small incision or however you spell it and just slided the wisdom teeth out. recovery was very short and pretty much painless.

I don't know what would be worse.. The pulling and painkillers or the slow, painful pushing and tearing that i'm suffering right now.

I'm going to have to get my lone wisdom tooth removed soon, it's starting to come in.
The experience can vary but just make sure to keep your **** clean afterwards. My sister didn't and it healed over food and got infected and they had to cut it back open.

Get them taken out as soon as a dentist says they should and you have coverage.
Mine all grew in fine with no pain or complications, and I thought I dodged a bullet, and now, out of school, out from under my parents' medical plan, and having not qualified for benefits from my work yet, one of them got infected and needed pulling. So step one was 100 dollars to get a dentist to spend 2 minutes going "Yup, need to pull that out" plus prescription antibiotics to kill the infection and painkillers to tide me over until the procedure. Then I had to pay another 175 dollars to get the tooth pulled out, plus missing 3 days of work, one for the appointment, one for the second appointment I had to make the next day because it still hadn't stopped bleeding yet, and then another day after that before the soreness and throbbing went away (I work in a callcenter, so it was pretty necessary) All told, to get one tooth pulled out now cost me probably 600 dollars in money spent, and money not gained from missed work. So if they'll do it now while you've got coverage, get on that noise! |

Oh god the laughing gas...It's heaven. Everything is hilarious. Also to whoever said painkillers are bad...what's wrong with you. I enjoyed my week of spacing out in my basement rolling my face along my keyboard.

I think within the hour I was under the gas, I envisioned my self in multiple video games and MMO's.
I want to buy a tank of that stuff...

Good luck doing anything that involves going out for the next few days. Talking and eating are just miserable. I ate only mashed potatoes for 7 days straight Even a peanut butter sandwhich was painful to eat.

Re: I'm about to get my wisdom teeth out..
Okay, well I got them out & I'm sitting here waiting for this numbing to go away. My lips, tongue, & chin are completely numb. The doctor said I really shouldn't have too much pain surprisingly. He said my only real problem should be my cheeks that will swell, which right now, they don't even look swelled at all. So, yeah, hopefully this all goes well.

Re: I'm about to get my wisdom teeth out..
I had absolutely no problem getting my wisdoms out. They knocked me out with some gas, and I was fine later that day. No pain, and pretty much fully healed in a few days.

Re: I'm about to get my wisdom teeth out..
At first I thought I was going to pull mine out because the back of my gums started hurting but then I researched online that I had gum abscess so I just bought some stuff at walmart. So I just popped the abscess let the puss run out and then poured that stuff in my mouth and it went away in 2 days 8)
