I heard someone call my name ##

So I did a bit of research and came across a few great links that can help you pinpoint if you have a good chance of spotting auroras -at any given day-.

Link 1: Discover if you can see an Aurora in a certain time period
http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/rt_plots/kp_3d.html

You are supplied with a 3 day scale a 3-hour Planetary Kp-index. Use it to see if you have a possibility to see an aurora. This link is updated every 15 minutes. Keep in mind that the Kp scale here is also displayed on the links below - in order to see an aurora, the reading -must- be greater than or equal to the number of the links below. So if you have a Kp = 5 for one night, only people above the line that says Kp = 5 will have a chance at seeing these. I say chance because clouds may ruin the show, etc.

Link 2: North America map, who in North America can see an Aurora?
http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/Aurora/globeNW.html

You are shown the map above, but if you click the link, and then click an approximation of where you are located, or just a place you are interested in, a dialog box will appear containing the latitude, longitude, and adjusted magnetic placement; if you are in North America, you are magnetically further north than you are geographically placed, increasing your chance of seeing auroras.

Link 3: Eurasia map, who in Eurasia can see an Aurora?
http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/Aurora/globeNE.html

You are shown the map above, but if you click the link, and then click an approximation of where you are located, or just a place you are interested in, a dialog box will appear containing the latitude, longitude, and adjusted magnetic placement; if you are in Eurasia, you are magnetically further south than you are geographically placed, decreasing your chance of seeing auroras.

I love how the maps show the borders of every state and leave Canada to approximate with its enormous landmass

(Post from EST time) People I know were freaking out all day about this. But, I guess they didn't know that it had already happened.

Truth is, I didn't know it happened either. :\
