A beginner's Guide to FFR (Songs)
Hello Everybody My Name is Jprox445
I am creating this thread for the sole purpose of giving newcomers a good start with some fun and easy files and gradually raising the Difficulty bar over time. --------------------------------------------------- Hello Newcomer Welcome to the insanity we call FFR! If this is your first time here and you've made your account already, you probably want to play some songs right? Well I am here to give you a list of fun enjoyable and easy songs for you to play to get used to the game, I will Dedicate this to songs all the way to difficulty (12) The first thing you need to know as a newcomer, is that you need to set that speed mod! you may have seen some replays and thought "Woah! that was really fast!" but trust me it is a good way to start off knowing how to handle a good tempo/speed. I Suggest that you raise your Speed mod to at least (1.5) it is a good starting speed and will make the files I list much more fun to play! ----------------------- Here are a list of songs in order from difficulty 1-12that i think would be your best bet to start! I will update this more in the near future, thanks for stopping by and happy Key Smashing! Will Update Within Reasonable Time. Last edited by jprox445; 01-9-2012 at 02:21 AM.. |

Re: A beginner's Guide to FFR (Songs)
mmmm, great thread idea :J
I suggest the difficulty 4 song Love to the list. It's a short song, with a catchy melody and slowly introduces the player to hitting jumps (important!). I "love"d this song when I began FFR, as it was the staple song that slowly transitioned me into the next level of difficulty. |

Good idea Jprox but maybe even covering all the difficulties in general and even then noting songs to practice patterns, Linking to the FAQ, Linking to the picture dictionary would all be great additions to your post. Also throw a link to the standalone info in there please.

Nice thread. I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened it, but nice job nevertheless.

Wait, Forsaken Neon got bumped to 10? About damn time. 14 tps streams/trills is over the top for a 9. (Also, Shihen and Purple have streams that are about that fast.)
I'd suggest Bit Blue for 10s, as it gives you two things: Jump trills and hands, as well as more elaborate jump chains.

It used to be a VC, quite some time ago. It got brought down to a Challenging level file due to short length and relatively easy pattern selection (despite the speed).

Re: A beginner's Guide to FFR (Songs)
this was originally supposed to be a new comer list... but with songs all the way to 12... is it really worthy anymore :c
because by the time your FC'ing 9's are you really a newbie anymore? |

Re: A beginner's Guide to FFR (Songs)
I'm reviving an old thread here.. I can FC just about any song up to about 50.. Beyond that, it gets way too difficult for me.
I've been playing Rythem games since way back in the Guitar Hero 1 days. I've been at the top of the competitive brackets. This shit, in the 60's and beyond blows my mind. I can't keep up, nor can i figure out how the hell some of you are able to master these tracks. |

Re: A beginner's Guide to FFR (Songs)
Probably should have made a new thread given the OP is permabanned or otherwise never coming back.
General rule of thumb for improving is to play songs that are 5-10 levels higher than your FC comfort zone. You'll get better by playing these songs primarily.
