protip, hitsounds are always horridly offsync (if you sync to hitsounds, audio based offset turns to shite as well). turn off effects, or find a skin that has silent mp3s for hitsounds

hitsounds will never be 100% on sync because latency stuff

SM is like the only music game where people consider mirror/shuffle/etc as cheating it's pretty funny. None of that happens in DDR/IIDX/Pop'n/etc

I do want people to play my charts without lane modifications because I put lots of effort into pitch relevancy but that's really off topic

I only see that apply for pad files because they generally have a lot of BPM gimmicks that C-mods ruins (and also C-mods disqualify rankings in ITG2).

this is actually interesting, because it's not as if some iidx/ddr/pop'n charts don't follow certain song traits such as PR and layering.

also what makes certain sm files distinct is certain hard parts that kind of get lost when shuffled

please don't tell me you're actually in the camp of "shuffle is bad"
you're primarily an accuracy player, so maybe you don't see what shuffle is a benefit to higher level players
you do know what shuffle does, right? not only does it, you know, randomize the columns so you're forced to play patterns that aren't used very often in charts, but it also removes reliance of muscle memory
