Help with lap top.

Well, My lap top lags, whenever there is music or video. A example would be when windows is starting up and plays the little music tone, when that plays it lags and skips. This all started when my Stepmania starting to lag and skip, it took three minutes to shut down stepmania, ever since then. Playing videos on YouTube or anything, will lag my lap top (or crash my lap top, after I close Windows Media Player, my lap top shows a blue screen with words for two seconds then restarts)

Another thing, any time minimize or maximize my windows or move around the arrow, it seems to skip places and lag.

Im not really sure if I should post anything about the lap top system, Can anyone help me out?

Possibly viruses uses up all of your memories? Or your video card is teh crap.

Have you recently installed anything such as a network card, new camera, anything?

No I havent installed anything at all, Just that Aim 6.5 upgrade, but got rid of it because I didnt like it at all. My video card isnt crap so far ive had this lap top for a while (2 years) and this just now started, No viruses, I have AVG and doesnt find any viruses.

I use a ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M series, For video card.
