Very easy file. Xiao's rating: 4/7 Beginner-friendly?: yes For solords?: no (Oubliette) Burning Heat! (Full Option Mix) Summary: I think it's a conversion of iamme's file. Xiao's rating: 3/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (DGK) Nekomimi Mayohiga Sumai Summary: MUCH harder version than Ghakimx's. Layered much more severely. Xiao's rating: 5/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (DGK) Children (Dream Ver.) Summary: Overlayered file, questionable song choice. Xiao's rating: 2/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (who_cares973) Maid of Fire Summary: Good god. Xiao's rating: 1/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: yes (Ghakimx) Hakai no kuni no arisu -AGGRESSIVE RIOT- Summary: Attempt at an O2 chart. Different non-PR stepping style, kind of fun. Xiao's rating: 4/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Classic Rocker) Pink Summary: HNNNNNNNNNNNNGHHHHHHHHHH Xiao's rating: 6/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Halogen) Explosive Summary: DAMN SON that was really fun. Heavy is oni underlayered. Oni is layered properly, but it's nothing excessive. Only critique would be that some parts are too excessive on one hand, and the 32nd brackets. Xiao's rating: 5/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Patashu) Lost n' Found Summary: Nice and mellow chart alongside the song. Makes me want to play Super Monkey Ball. Xiao's rating: 4/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Fysx) Rise n' Beauty Summary: 1/16 chordstreaming to trance. Mmmmmmm. Xiao's rating: 5/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Fysx) Bitter Chocolate Striker Summary: 1/8 triplet (1/12s) chordstreaming. This plays a lot like The Deep Striker (since it's also obviously by Denjin K). I don't really like it at all but it's been getting praise so you might. Xiao's rating: 3/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Fysx) Intergalactic (Planetary) Summary: The chart is fine, but it's Beastie Boys. Kind of boring. Xiao's rating: 3/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Malice) L'erisia -Akaki Tenshi- (Primary Logic) Summary: A lot of brackets, but a very charming chart nonetheless. Coming from Malice, this is a relatively piss easy chart. Xiao's rating: 6/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Stargroup) BATTLE BREAKS Summary: Xmod file. BADDEST DJ ON TWO TURN TABLES (OMG OMG) Xiao's rating: 5/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Cytex) Guillaime Tell Summary: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA Xiao's rating: 1/7 Disgusting?: yes (DarkRazor) Blue Rain Summary: Better than OML. Chordstreaming. Dark Razor, etc. etc. Xiao's rating: 3/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Patashu) Space Off Summary: Harder version of session. Xiao's rating: 5/7 Beginner-friendly?: For solords?: -- (One Winged Angel) Session Summary: Slow chordstreaming file. Xiao's rating: 5/7 Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Oubliette) Time Circuits Summary: Slow, easy file. AAA bait, though a bit too long for its own good. Xiao's rating: 4/7 Beginner-friendly?: yes For solords?: no --- EVERYTHING BELOW THIS LINE ISN'T RATED (Oubliette) 2 Hookers and an Eightball (Full) Xiao's summary: MSI song. Conversion of DTM's chart. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Ghakimx) Up in the air Xiao's summary: Not as difficult as Ame ni uta re, fubuki ki sabu. Relatively easy file with simple rhythms. I would say it's beginner-friendly. Beginner-friendly?: yes For solords?: no (Ghakimx) Ame ni uta re, fubuki ki sabu Xiao's summary: Quite repetitive once again. Some measures are a bit questionable (i.e. using nothing but 2345 making it basically a singles file), but it's a technically alright file. Hearing the chorus like 50 times kind of grated on me. Basic 1/16 streaming with some chords in it. Nothing nasty. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Ghakimx) Nekomimi Mayohiga Sumai Xiao's summary: found it hard to MA though since you used straight 1/8 stream instead of 1/16 gallops (or 1/8 triplets, I honestly couldn't tell while playing). The song had so much going on that could've made a really fun oni chart. Having measures with nothing but 1/4 notes also made the chart feel really empty; it was kind of boring considering the upbeat style of the song but I suppose that makes it very beginner friendly. Beginner-friendly?: yes For solords?: no (Cherubi & Kommisar) Around the World Xiao's summary: Difficult chordstreaming file. Oni is worthless. Heavy is fun, albeit hard. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Fysx) End of the Moonlight Xiao's summary: Plays a lot like the oni charts in XSBP1. Very fun, not too difficult. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Fysx) Udon Kotarou Xiao's summary: ... Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Debit) DJ Otada Xiao's summary: Somewhat streamy file. Oni is basically heavy+; random chord bursts make oni feel inconsistent. Chimera's more fun IMO. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Debit) Chimera Xiao's summary: A bit left hand biased with some slightly strenuous ring trilling/ringjacking but fun file overall. Minor holdstreaming practise. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Patashu) Chaotic WHITE Xiao's summary: Intermediate heavy chart; basic chord stream. A rather fun file. Oni is the same thing but overlayered as **** with some retarded patterns and heavy jacking. Beginner-friendly?:no For solords?: yes (oni) (who_cares973) Eight Empty Beds Xiao's summary: Made for beginners to practise chords on. Not the easiest file but still beginner friendly considering the scope of harder files. Quad bait, I have 3p and I can't MA for ****. Beginner-friendly?: yes For solords?: no (Patashu) The Legend of MAX Xiao's summary: This file is **** People-friendly? no(Patashu) Bomb This Track Xiao's summary: It's MSI. Plays like any other MSI file. I don't need to say anything else. Song sucks. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (who_cares973) Cette Année Xiao's summary: Who_care's first solo chart. Patterns are nothing complex, but the song itself is relatively vanilla and the chart itself tends to follow that trend. Very repetitive with simple note patterns but there's a feeling of inconsistency in the file - especially when a 32nd trill burst and 24th stream come on-screen - that leaves the entire chart feeling a little less than memorable. Not a terrible chart but probably won't play it again. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no (Patashu) Cradle Xiao's summary: Oni is a ****ing dump. Heavy/standard are okay, but nothing remarkably fun. Rhythms in all charts are pretty straightforward. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: oni (Patashu) Don't Say Anything Xiao's summary: Oni is :ver jacks: with heavy layering, heavy is still relatively jacky for a solo file, standard plays much like a hard chart from a XSBP. Oni is still kind of fun though, heavy is kind of a boring inbetween, and I can see standard being a decent chart for newer players to practise on. Beginner-friendly?: yes (standard) For solords?: no ("Dimentio") Foughten Field Xiao's summary: Very fun file; a marathon, but still very fun nonetheless. Repeating patterns make it easy to pick up after a sightread and while the song isn't for beginners, it's still uses relatively easy patterns for the most part and makes a good intermediate file. Beginner-friendly?: no For solords?: no

Re: ITT: Solo packs
The Milky Blue file has a .rar of itself inside the file, so it takes up twice da space, though it's not really worth the effort of reuploading the whole folder just for that, unless you wanna remove the Xiao pack files from it.
Edit: ODI2 with the .sm's added to the files already, much more convenient 8) http://www.mediafire.com/?ymjym3ylwnw Last edited by [TeRa]; 07-7-2009 at 11:31 PM.. |

Re: ITT: Solo packs
There's a small collection of files for new solo players outside of Xiao's packs, so definitely download those. I mean there's like 350 files here, so I can't really give you a good difficulty range lol.

Wooo Downloading ODI2 and 62 solo files (which I hope are good considering that the 92 and 98 don't have very fun files. )

Re: ITT: Solo packs
My files (for the most part) are fully charted, so they're best for beginners. The ones that aren't fully charted are only intermediate in difficulty, so they're good practise once you get past that stage. My hardest chart is Piano x Forte x Scandal, which isn't all that hard anyway.
The 98/92/62 are mid to high tier files with some solord files scattered throughout, while the BCMPs are mostly upper/solord tier files. I'll probably finish a XSBP3 before the end of August - assuming I'm not completely bogged down by osu!, Oblivion, Fallout 3, IaMP and BlazBlue...

XBSP is really good, since it has a good difficulty curve for the songs.
I'll try some of the other packs later. |

Re: ITT: Solo packs
I need a songlist before I can start stepping for a third XSBP. Feel free to recommend songs to step - specifically, ones that sound like they can be broken down into differently layered charts. Wap songs preferred, generic techno is a plus.

Re: ITT: Solo packs
I'd recommend No Eyes and Anything Cannot be Done by RoughSketch. They're quite hardcore, and they include a piano piece, which is nice.
I have the mp3 for No Eyes, but sadly, not the other song.
