Wiki ffr
So, I was thinking, what if FFR had a wiki page that fully documented events such as tournaments, the rise and fall of players in the rankings, and just goes in depth on allot of happenings on here dealing with mp, chat, moderators ect. Just a thought.

Re: Wiki ffr
Butthurtedness plus supposedly not fulfilling whatever standards Wikipedia has for a page to be allowed to exist in particular portals.

Re: Wiki ffr
Not Wikipedia, but it's close enough. Link.
If you want me to try and create a Wikipedia page, let me know. Editors and administrators are a lot stricter than say in 2004. If the article is not "credible" and does not have the references, it WILL be taken down. |

Re: Wiki ffr
It's kinda hard to put an "eye witness account" into the references section at the bottom of the page of any wikipedia article. If anything, to make it more credible, said eye witness would have to dedicate a webpage or something about what he has to say so that way that webpage could be referenced. (PS, that webpage can't be anywhere on ffr, wikipedia is a stickler for self-references I believe).

Re: Wiki ffr
And you might just end up getting the pages deleted anyways cause some diehard wikipedia user doesn't want any changes to the site.

Re: Wiki ffr
Unless you can actually provide proper citations of where things Wikipedia thinks are valid have referenced the site, don't even bother wasting your time.
It is funny though, the way they've decided, in the face of obvious common-sense evaluation, that a game site that was getting 300,000 gameplays daily wasn't notable simply because it hadn't been quoted in a magazine or something. Of course, -now- there's just much less notability than there was at the height of the deletion debate on Wikipedia, so you really shouldn't bother trying to get it onto wikipedia. |

Instead of being so negative, why not contribute?

Re: Wiki ffr
Because when the site was at its absolute peak of popularity and activity, it was nuked by Wiki staff for non-notability, questions as to whether it was being created by people with a vested interest in and connection to the site, and the utter lack of actual citations from non-first-party sources.
Everything about the site and company now is even less notable and even less cited than it was then. There is no way they will let it stay up, so I wouldn't waste my time on it. |

Re: Wiki ffr
Twitch's gaming list comes from GiantBomb.
Which means that we can actually play Flash Flash Revolution on twitch now instead of pretending it's StepMania! nice

Re: Wiki ffr
I feel as though there are far less notable things that have managed to stay listed on Wikipedia. Also the idea that the largest online encyclopedia would reject anything with valid information on something seems a little ass-backwards.
