Just use a standalone to clean up the lag if you are having any...I'll PM you the instructions for one if you'd like that.

Re: This site needs a revamp.
Perhaps this flash player I am using is just terrible, but my computer is definitely well-equipped to handle pretty much everything I throw at it.

What version of flash are you using? The newer flashes tend to run FFR poorly. I personally use flash 8 for FFR some swear by 9.

Stepmania can run at a higher FPS.

It was just to illustrate that FFR can't run at that framerate.

Re: This site needs a revamp.
Widgets were basically a small embeddable engine that would feature the artists songs. They would put it on their myspace pages or wherever and it would draw in traffic.
None of the embeds work anymore but this was the old widgets page http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/widgets/ |

Re: This site needs a revamp.
Unfortunately, it is what it is. There's nothing that can be done to change this attitude, either. I think it inevitably goes hand in hand with the style of play many pad players have (index), and the overall drive of charts for FFR (spread). ITG players almost universally see FFR as a site that has files of "lacking quality". I've changed a -few- opinions with contact of certain ITG players, but not many. =/

Re: This site needs a revamp.
Isn't it also kinda the mentality of like "real men play with their feet" type deal? I could be wrong but I always got the impression that a lot of people from the pad community had a bad view on keyboard because it's "easier" to do files with four fingers than two feet kinda thing.

Re: This site needs a revamp.
That is also true, according to some people I've talked to both in real life and online. However silly it is, it's a mentality that's very difficult to remove. People will be stuck with their own perceptions of what is acceptable for DDR-type games...
To regain a lot of popularity for FFR is a very steep uphill climb. |

Re: This site needs a revamp.
I played DDR for so very very long before getting into FFR. I was pretty damn good at it too. I can see both sides of the debate. It's easy to do pad songs on the keyboard obviously. But you have to admit, some of the songs on here are just F-ing ridiculous. It's just like blocks of notes coming at you, and it a smash-your-keyboard on the floor type of level

Re: This site needs a revamp.
But it's been like this for long that everyone is used to it. I'm pretty fine with it actually, but it could be a bit better. I just miss the simfile database. xD

This game is awesome, idk why more people don't play. It's so much more fun that "farmville" or those other dumb things on facebook that people are addicted to.

Re: This site needs a revamp.
It'd be nice to draw in some new active members. However, we already have a dedicated community and there's enough of us to be able to coordinate/host events and things that everyone in the community can enjoy and enough people to keep the opinions seen in forum posts varied enough. However, I kinda like how it's not big to the point where you feel like you are just one person lost in a sea of people, trying to voice your opinion, and wondering if anyone will ever listen to you; this community is somewhat tight-knit and I kind of like that, many people here make an honest effort here to get to know one another better. With that said, I wouldn't mind more active members, but I think the people who are already active members are already satisfied the with the number of active users and community involvement.

Plus being attached to Facebook can't hurt either. And for the OT: I hate when sites get revamped most of the time. Look at youtube, they just get worse and worse with each new layout.
