Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
Plan_Bsk81127 - The rivalry I had with him back in the day inspired me to improve and constantly play FFR trying to beat him haha. Most memorable thing was when we were racing for Otaku Speedvibe [Heavy] which he beat me to XD. I tried to keep up with him as long as I could but when FFR finally came back from that long break I found out he got so much better at the game and I was worse XD.
7thJosephSign - I looked up to him when it came to playing the style I first started out with on FFR which I called sprindex (playing with 3 fingers using 2 hands). I wanted to try to become the best sprindex player on FFR back then. Jerry DB - The amount of work this guy puts into FFR is insane and he not only puts in a lot of effort but he gets amazing results out of it. This summer I'll be trying to put in some work myself to catch up to this guy Hakulyte - Haha first time I met this guy he straight up asked me to be his rival. He inspired me to try and AAA as much as I could resulting in an end goal of trying to get all 1-9s AAAed. Thanks to him I have accomplished this task and it feels good not to have to AAA those songs that people despise trying to AAA. Not very many people have inspired me but I can make a huge list of people who have motivate me and I'm sure I can't remember every person that motivate me so don't get mad if you aren't included. It's probably because I forgot to include you since I have a terrible memory :< People who motivated me: The four people mentioned above, kjwkjw, iironiic, icyworld, yo man im awesome, 00razor00, sky kitten, magicturbo, justin_ator, T-Force, awein999, niala, silvuh, sk8r43, wscb, -poison, tidus810, yoshl, flipsta_lombax, kmay, woker-x, rushyrulz, subin, xxopkillerxx, coolrun, ninty64, nightfirecat, OWA, and more. There are also a lot of people who have motivated me in stepping and I'll add you here as well :3 People who motivated me to step: bmah, marionintendo, 00razor00, kjwkjw, iironiic, xayphon, who_cares973, psychoangel691, tc_halogen, niala, ichliebekase, and more. Again, sorry if I forgot to mention you. It wasn't intentional.

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
FFR is like a big family from all over the world. It's hard to not be inspired by it. Of course, you're not all perfect like me, but I still love you guys.
/lol paradox of competitive environment where people actually sort of care about each others. Edit: v-- Cool, you pretty much summed up my inspiration back in 2005. Last edited by Hakulyte; 04-16-2012 at 03:03 PM.. |

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
Early inspirations for FFR were anuj, reach, nima, etc. I remember I saw a thread in brag board like the first month after I joined where anuj posted a silence fc and I was absolutely dumbfounded. Then were awhile Shash was my biggest rival iirc, around 07 I think. He definitely contributed alot more to FFR though in terms of improving the site and refining the game.
For the most part the people who made SM the most competetitive for me were Thaor for the most part and at the end, wooke. My favorite SM video of all time is Thaor's St. Scarhand AAA (which also happens to be my all time favorite file). I've played the thing so many times though and accrued so many bad habits I'd be lucky to get a double digit great + SDCB at this point (no joke, I'm atrocious at it). It was always really cool to see scores from Reach and tsutter every now and then too (#est 19 perf AAA anyone? legendary score). It's too bad they weren't consistent SM players cause they were really cool guys, especially Reach. He still lurks the forums here every now and then doesn't he? I think I've seen him post. |

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
too true. No one in general inspired me, there were key people who kept me coming back here like Ichliebekase when i joined in 2007, but everyone really played a big role in helping me learn about everything on the site and contribute more.

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
Shash, Gameboy, Pointed Fang (even if his videos were fake, they were awesome to watch), leonid, Smitty, and Darkshark's One Minute Waltz video was pretty insane when I first saw it

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
Honestly, AJ (TC_Halogen-) because I thought he was the best (never was around the forums or really cared). All I saw was his name everywhere on this site in like 06-08 or something. He was the one who posted what spread because I didn't know what it was but everyone was using it. So yeah, started from there.

I most certainly do still lurk here. How have you been dude? To answer the question, too many to remember for me, but the biggest inspiration was probably Arch0wl. He was a dick to me back then and was ultimately the one who drove me to be as good as I was. Not to mention he kept ripping up my simfiles. 8)

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
I would have said archowl if he wasn't such an asshole back then. He always claimed my scores were BS most likely because he couldn't beat them. He's probably changed by now, but I just can't consider him "inspiration" just because I wanted to destroy his scores out of spite, and did so only a short while after coming to ffr.

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
Bullshit, I've inspired you to get back into the game TWICE.
Apart from that, a lot of people have encouraged me over the years. Here's just a few of them. -Katy Kat for showing me the game on the Adventure Quest forums in the first place (don't remember what her name was/is on here, so just giving the name she used there) -Cj Leonine for being in my corner in the early days when I was threatening to FC ff7 battle -All the contributors to the sim db, especially hi19hi19, Dukamok and Magnatrick (I played his MSWGO on the DB the day my grandfather passed away) -ichliebekase for some nice rivalry in the amateur thread...looks like we're pulling even again! -DxoxL for beating me at EVERYTHING, and I'm not about to let any of it go until I get my revenge (pretty much the same deal Izzy has with AO) -OWA for epic rage and making me stay up till 3 am trying to fix my BF of NWE (thanks to that, I'm probably never going to pull it off) -Staiain for leaving comments on the odd SM score dump -Kotarouchan for keeping MeTrivia matches interesting |

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
You inspire me when it comes to step files, but that's mutual between me and pretty much everyone else, to the extent that they don't even have to include it in their post. xD

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
Any actual good index player from 2006-2007... then after like 2009 some of the ridiculous spread players (EAGAMES, Rubix, Dossar, etc.)

I remember Arch0wl's Reality video being pretty inspirational (it made me want to experiment with index play for about a month or two)

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
Well, I was originally introduced by the FFR website by my cousin Alisa (Kitsumi25)...but she hasn't been on here in ages, sadly D: nor did she play much. But, to be honest and not trying to sound all corny, it was actually Jae that inspired me to put effort in the site and the game. And even Maggie (DarknessXoXLight) who pushed me to get better and better at the game has inspired me. With the both of them, they've helped me enter the world of stepping :P Hopefully in a month or so~whenever the next batch is~ I'll be getting a song in, knowing how much help I've been luckily given. <3

Re: Who inspired you in FFR?
I feel special that I inspired just one person in this thread. <3
On a side note, I'm a little sad :'( On a more positive note, Nima is the only one who ever inspired me into getting as good as I did and I think getting 6 goods 1 boo full combo on flight of the bumble bee before speedmods and avmiss fix was a feat of strength for me. See as that was a WR for awhile, until speedmods came out which is why I quit lol ;( Last edited by DJRiDDeR; 04-16-2012 at 09:34 PM.. |
