Re: TWC Rules, Policies, Etc.
The original TWC ruling was that you could vote for yourself, but several games went by and people were just saftying themselves game after game simply not to step on anyone's toes.
They changed it to: "the Vote counts but you still get a phantom" because there are instances where people just give up and vote themselves. It's designed to allow you to vote for yourself in those instances, but it makes you vote for someone else if you're just saftying.

I haven't seen someone safety on himself since last year when DBP was still around.

because it allows for you to remain safe and avoid suspicion. Hurting yourself can be viewed in more ways than one. It's just not common.

Re: TWC Rules, Policies, Etc.
So, I was thinking, why exactly do we use AIM as our primary and only source of contacting each other? I mean, to build a case for my idea, it is called America Online. And, we have plenty of Canadians who might not have America Online. Just off the top of my head there's Kekeb, emerald, devonin, heavy, EnR, and more that I can update this if I need to think of. I also know a girl who wanted to play that lives in Japan but didn't have AIM or know how to make one.
So, what I'm getting at is, perhaps we should add in MSN as another method of contacting each other for our frequent players outside of America. |

Um...absolutely anybody and everybody can download AIM, you go to google, you type in "Download AIM" and voila, it has nothing to do with nationality at all. I've had AIM for years.

Also, as mentioned before, there are online clients to use AIM as well.
Edit: P.S. If you are still lurking on these forums dorama. Feel free to sign up for the next game. Your ban will be lifted. |

Re: TWC Rules, Policies, Etc.
I'm not TWC, but I feel obliged to mention that in addition to what others said, certain games may actually cause the player or his side to benefit from him being voted off. That's entirely situational, of course.

I know, guys. I'm just saying, why are we limited to only AIM? Just putting the suggestion out there, though.

Re: TWC Rules, Policies, Etc.
Using MSN would make no difference. The only way that we could differently use a contact method would be by going beyond text-communication and using Vent or something.
Also, Trillian allows you to use msn, yahoo, and aim all at once. |

Also, no one is stopping you from using a different messenger.
If you talk to someone on MSN we aren't going to be like, "OMG evil logs DONT POST!" I just think everyone (or at least the vast majority) is comfy with AIM. Why try to change that? |

Ok, I was just putting the idea out there. If people want to contact on MSN some hosts could post the SN's in the OP.
That's a lot of acronyms... |

Re: TWC Rules, Policies, Etc.
yeah why should the majority of players have to switch to MSN so a select few don't have to type 6 letters and a punctuation mark into the address bar

Re: TWC Rules, Policies, Etc.
There's absolutely no reason for this. AIM works fine. If someone doesn't have AIM, then they should take the 5 seconds it takes to register an AIM account and go on meebo.com to use it. If they can't be bothered to commit to that, then they shouldn't be playing a game as intensive as TWG. Simple as that. AIM has worked since the beginning, it works now, and adding something now would be stupid, confusing, and unnecessary.
