What is with the frame rate adjustment?
Ok, so a few days ago I realized I could change the frame rate for myself to make the arrows more smooth. Sounded like the best idea ever so I crank it up to 60 from the 30 I've been playing on for the last 9 years. It seems fine at first except that my accuracy plummets and so I fiddle with it, moving it up and down over the next few days, always being uncomfortable. Yesterday I tried to start small and start at 40 and move up from there every couple hours in order to get used to it. This seems to be working until I realize it's not. Just as a test I move it back down to 30 and immediately I am performing back at my skill and accuracy level from last week. wtf? What is with this. I know I'm just not used to it, but I really don't see how some people on here can play at 60+ fps and be accurate. For some reason, I am most accurate at 30. Maybe my eyes are just adjusted to it.
What do you all think? |

Your monitor is a factor as well. I know on my old monitor (60hz) had slower response timings than my 75 hz monitor that I'm using now. Now the arrows doesn't look like they're flying past my face. It also does take some time to adjust to it as well.

Yeah I was on 255 before, it was fine for a few songs but it ultimately didn't work out just as much as the rest. The smoothness of the arrows is what kills me. I don't know how to adjust to a smooth movement going across the screen when my eyes have been adjusting for a choppy 30 fps arrow the whole time.

Gradually keep bumping the frame rate as you keep playing starting from 30. For example...do like 35. When that looks choppy after awhile, then go to like 40.

From personal experience, I actually had to shift my judge offset whenever I used rates or switched to above 30 FPS.
My normal settings were 3/1, but I had to switch judge to 0, which involves you to drop the global to 2 for it to line up properly. |

I still don't understand the offsets at all. I just don't use them at all. Even using them I don't notice a huge difference except that it makes me worse. I'm probably just setting them up wrong.

My judge setting ended up as like .541 or some random number like that. And it's pretty solid for me. |
