Mr. Rubix also once said that the trick is to pretend that your run doesn't count. But really, how can one so easily trick him or herself mentally? I sure can't.

The mind isn't stupid; if you're having a great run, your brain will definitely wipe off any notion that it's a calm, ordinary playthrough.

Yes, and I'm using 60, since it's supposed to be StepMania-like. Judge and global offset are at 0 too, if that means anything.

Hmm that is kind of odd, if your monitor more than 60hz?

Well the refresh rate is 60hz, but I'm not too sure if the monitor is. I'm assuming it is.

It's really hard to put into words how to do it but I want to say it is a skill that you can teach yourself when you come across something difficult but you believe you can get the AAA on.

I would agree with what Rubix said, though I wouldn't tell myself the run doesn't count because then at some point if I actually believed that then I would stop immediately haha. Anyways, I had to tell myself that I would flag it in that run and that I'd be okay with the flag, but I pushed through and nailed it. Previously I had a 0-0-2-0 run on it and I attributed both misses to pure nerves (and shaking).

If you are unable to do it mentally, I would say the next best thing is to turn off any indicator of your score (Even raw score display if that's possible) so that you cannot visibly see if you messed up or not. There are downsides to it such as wasting time if you are already passed your PB, but it's still an option.

I know the question was directed at zenith but I'm prettyhigh and methods of improvement are all subjective anyway, so time for some words
since every notable score of mine were complete accidents.

I think the trick is just trying to find the equilibrium between calm/relaxed and motivated/focused. Not giving a fuck yet still striving to push beyond your perceived limitations. rather than think, know your score doesn't count because what ever your able to achieve is far from what you're truly capable of.

Exploit a positive mindset rather than embracing an anxious one. after all it's just a game there's no point getting all gittery and excited every time you press some buttons well

Yeah that's really really odd that you're getting ghosting. Maybe someone else has some ideas but that's all I really know that could cause it.

I just got my second FC run on Divinity Garden. Never mind I got almost twice the goods as the equivalent of my best run (and that's just counting the goods!), but this thing freaking shits on me. Either "lol nope you didn't hit the key correctly, so have a miss" or "hahaha wouldn't it be hilarious if I lagged during the 48th staircase that probably has a cameljack in it?"
