Hmm... another reason to have a computer help subforum. I don't really have this problem, it's probably your computer, not FFR. (something from online, of course, but maybe not from FFR)

Actually, the ads gave me a virus too, and I didn't have virus protection, and I needed to reformat.

Wow, i didn't even know that FFR ads were considered malware. I wonder why they won't just get rid of the ads for non-subscribers.

Really? Do you click on the ads? Aren't the ads dependent on (google kind of technique) things you commonly search up on your computer?

I'm not sure, maybe it's because I block ads.

edit: what I mean by that ^^^ is that I don't have a virus from FFR, but I don't get many advertisements from FFR either. (right click, block all images from so-and-so website)

edit2: which the link is still there, but the advertisement isn't running... odd.

FFR has many bugs. Sometimes AVG on my main PC will detect an attempted attack and automatically move it to the "Virus Vault" after alerting me. Usually it's small stuff with very low threats.

However, on my laptop, when I went into FFR I got slammed with FakeAlert-D. Eventually it got bad to where files were automatically opening in my computer (most likely hacking/spyware). I was forced to swipe everything.

Only solution I know of is having strong defense programs on your computer. Either that or subscribe.

So... is it FROM advertisements, or is it something else? I don't know, but that seems pretty screwed up.

Ads give me all kinds of viruses from this site. It's really frustrating to scan on almost a daily basis and find 10 different ad/spywares sitting on the comp.

Gee, I don't ****ing know...maybe because they need revenue? Where is your head?

Anyways, I've got SpySweeper too, and I've never had a malware attack. Every once in a great while, I'll get a pop-up from SpySweeper saying they blocked access to some low level key logger or some ****, but it's never anything big enough to sound the alarms, so to speak.

Even when I wasn't a subscriber, I never had a problem.

That's because you have good defenses. Some programs won't alert you when it blocks attempted attacks, but will still keep your computer safe.
