i looked at a stream out of curiosity the other day and saw cwdt ic was still a thing and closed it

at first it was like haha this is funny, then it became haha actually this makes evasion builds pretty viable after the deterministic rng change on evasion, then it was haha this is actually broken now we can run glass cannon builds haha xD XD xD mobility clearspeed meta xDDD

ff 2 years to now and its why the fuck does it still exist

i don't see what the problem is with cwdt ic given that you ahve a take a hit for it to proc and bad glass cannon builds can die easily before it does proc

wait you guys seriously don't see the problem with every viable clear build using the same brainless defensive skill setup for the last 3 years resulting in the game being reduced to how fast can you insert movement skill here through maps using insert skill that kills everything on the screen in the smallest number of frames

you don't alienate players who use a build if you give them something comparable to replace it with

my complaint is only tangential to my issue with clearspeed, it mostly has to do with the fact that i can't fathom how a game that has decidedly apt opportunities to completely rebalance build viability with new leagues ends up with the same shit being played over and over again

you've been missing out if you think cwdt ic is the only thing that enables clearspeed meta. In fact you don't even need cwdt ic. The sole purpose of it is to counter porcupines

You can definitely boil down poe to what you described but you don't have to adhere to the 'meta'. At the end of the day poe is about clearing maps and killing bosses, preferably fast, and dreaming of mirror drops. High damage/speed builds can clear maps, kill bosses, and as a result, find loot faster. ARPGs regress to the optimum cause people who play them enjoy killing things fast. Even if poe's skill tree looks more variable than it actually is, that doesn't stop many skills from being viable

That being said I've enjoyed the two builds I've played in LSC so far. I ditched my siege ballista build though cause I felt totem AI was too garbage. My whispering ice build is pretty slow but it's fun to play anyway cause I haven't progressed as far into maps as I had before. Hoping to finish 36/40 before the league is over

a lot of people play non-meta builds, I'm working on a pure evasion build that uses two uniques that go for a few chaos at most

like leonid said, they're only for the exploding porcupines. well, maybe not just for that (lol melee), but it's not like we're linking vaal ic with cwdt (which would be totally broken). all IC does is negate phys damage, you can easily be killed by shit that cause ele damage or chaos damage, and people die to ele damage all the time. there are plenty of vids of high-level HC rips to stupid shit because people aren't paying attention to what's on the screen

but yeah, 3.0 is changing loads of shit. I doubt cwdt ic will be changed at all, but with the new additions speedclear will probably look significantly different

i guess i'll look into 3.0 to see whats up but i legit didn't at all enjoy the last few leagues i played, one of them i played some contagion build for a week before getting bored of whirling blading through screens of mobs and right clicking twice

the other i instadied to reflect playing selfcast bladefall with vaalpact/ll which was real fun

also just on the non-meta point come on guys you know i'm super competitive and i'd never trade being ahead of the curve and reaping the rewards that go with that for the opportunity to play idk coc cyclone srs or something

or at least if i do that i'd rather be rich as fuck first
