Legal Question
So I'm receiving A LOT of calls from toll free numbers and I'm interested in knowing a little more about "harassment" in the courts.
A little log of toll free calls: 8:21am 10/29 8:52am 10/29 12:45pm 10/29 5:00pm 10/29 5:10pm 10/29 Help?

Re: Legal Question
Why would you want to take them to court?
It's more fun ****ing with their heads. |

Re: Legal Question
If it's the same dude that's pretty weird.
Best thing to do is to tell them to take them off their "list", that way they can't call you again. |

Re: Legal Question
To elaborate on what DoctorSerpentine said, request that your number be put on the National No-Call List, and telemarketers will leave you alone from then on.
P.S That's nothing - my family used to get over 20 solicitation calls a day until we had our number placed on the list - 5 isn't so bad. ~Bynary Fission

Re: Legal Question
20 is pretty extreme. Most I've had in a day was like...13.

Re: Legal Question
Yup. I'm not sure what caused it, but my mom runs a pottery business, so as you can imagine, she was constantly calling people and getting supplies from tons of places...I have little doubt that telemarketers could easily get a hold of her number, especially since it's posted on her website.

Re: Legal Question
Yeah, do what Bynary said and have your name put on that list. We used to get them a lot and it would really piss my mom off. Naturally I found ways to have fun with it.. like tell them to 'hold on a sec' and then just leave the phone in a closet.

My brother was a telemarketer. The job sucks, but the pay was good.

Re: Legal Question
Telemarketers can be annoying, but on the other hand, now that we're on the no call list, I kind of miss screwing around with them.
If a telemarketer calls you, just say "Oh, I'm sorry, I can't talk. We don't have a phone." And that seems to hold them for a couple of minutes. |

Re: Legal Question
on my old land line, i had caller ID... and got a call from the Police Chiefs Association... they usually wanted me to donate my old car for some reason... but it was always fun answering the phone as a police department. They would always get confused and hang up.
dicking with telemarketers is so much fun... pity i rarely get any calls from them on my cell.

Re: Legal Question
Telemarketers are trying to get a paycheck.
They put up with a lot of crap from the people they call. With that said, I've always wanted to mess around with one.
