Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
I think I really don't like the IEM thing. Just trying to get them to stay in your ear properly is almost impossible. The sound quality changes drastically for how they are differently placed in your ear. 1mm too far out and the sound quality changes drastically. It also makes me feel like I'm on an airplane nonstop.

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
Are you getting almost full sound isolation (even without any sound going on) when trying them? If not, it's possible that the tip does not fit your ear properly or the placement is somewhat wrong. It should also be fairly stable and with consistent sound when in the correct position.
The 'airplane feeling' is more of a problem though, as it means the pressure difference caused by the phones is uncomfortable for you. |

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
Yea, I put on the small tips and they make a good seal, but it is hard to get them in that exact position and keep them there while moving about.
The non-IEM earbuds just pop in your ears and nearly sound the same in whatever which way even if it is slightly less good sounding than these other ones. I'll keep playing with them to see if I can get used to it. I'm sure I can probably get used to the pressure difference. Edit: Another REALLY annoying problem is that any movement at all causes echoing all the way through the wire and turns into super loud thumps in your ears. How is this supposed to be tolerable? I can't even move my head let alone actually walk with these in my ears without it sounding like someone is hitting my eardrums with hammers. Last edited by Izzy; 07-31-2014 at 10:32 AM.. |

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
That kind of noise coming from the wires are called microphonics. You usually pass the cable over your ear or use a clip on your shirt to minimize the problem.

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
I don't think being for a PS3 is even relevant in that question. A sound system is a sound system for anything.

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
It might be the way my ears are but I've never had problems finding and staying in the sweet spot for IEMs

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
Is this not the exact moment you're supposed to use a ref code?
Best earbuds I've ever had were a $5 pair of M&M earbuds that I picked up on clearance from Walgreens. Like they were actually really good.. o.o

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
Dunno if this topic is outdated but roflmao, what the heck.
I've worked for Skullcandy before (or at least the distributor in Singapore) and the brand isn't too bad. If you have the budget, go for Klipsch S3. Lowest end earphone but gives you an awesome taste of their brand. Excellent audio. Another thing you should note, if you can, is doing an equalization on your earphones. For example, most earphones don't play all frequencies, from high to low, at the same volume. By doing an equalization, you can get great sounding audio from even the cheapest earphones (except shitty iPhone earphones). Another model recommended is Audio Technica CKM55. One of the recommended models of ATH. |

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
According to Amazon, the last earphones I bought were the Philips SHE6000/10 in-ear headphones in March 2011 for £12. They're still working perfectly and I think the sound quality is great, so I'd have to recommend them.
Though at home I use AKG K550 and the sound on those is immense, but they're useless outside of the house because they're closed-back. |

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
After buying several ear buds to try and find the right one I found the sennheiser mx365. I couldn't deal with IEM things inside my ear.

These are an awesome value for 10$ plus like 2 or 3$ for shipping. It's on sale right now for 10 but the original price is 15. I really like the sound. Definitely the best value for headphones in my opinion.

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
Pioneer SE-CL501T
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00B...dir=1427347933 SGD$20 here. Excellent bass for its price. However, I find that mids feel rather muddy and the treble is a bit too high. Can be fixed though. The sound isolation from the rubber tips is excellent. It is manufactured as a straight jack but comes with an additional L jack, should you need it, as well as additional rubber tips. It also has a single button to pause/play to control any of the devices you control, be it iPod, iPhone and Android. If you want to adjust and equalize the sound for even better sound quality, here's how I equalized my sound in Poweramp. |

Re: Looking for Earbud headphones
Those are still all IEMs though. I'm sure they sound good for what they are, but I'll never be able to deal with the tips in my ears.
