ScarletSky's Amateur FFR Tournament (SIGN-UPS: CLOSED!)
ScarletSky's Amateur FFR Tournament There are many players on FFR that hide in the background and play on their own. Many are active in the Multiplayer scene, many are just beginning to show their skill. This is a tournament for any and all players who've never had a chance to really play competitively when they wanted to. ~Scoring and Eliminations~ This tournament will be ran elimination style using Raw scoring instead of total scoring (see below for example of the difference). That means a certain number of people who don't get a high enough score by the end of the round will be removed from the tournament. Anyone who does NOT submit a score for a round, without good reason, will also be eliminated from the tournament. The difference between raw and combo scoring (and why someone uses one over the other) is simple. Raw scoring is the amount of points accumulated for each individual note you hit (or don't). Perfects = 50, goods = 25, boos = -5, etc. Combo scoring is rarely used. It is the score of the notes you hit, but it also factors in your max combo. Since we're not worried about how many notes you can hit, but how accurate your hits are, we use Raw scoring. Raw scoring is in the green, which is what we will use. Combo scoring is in the red. ~Rules and Regulations~ Signups are open from now to 11:59pm server time on the 17th. Rounds will last 7 days long, starting at 12:01am Sunday, December 18th. 1.) To sign up, simply post that you want to compete in this thread. You will be notified when the tournament starts and during the start of each round with information regarding your division. 2.) You must have a minimum of 150 FULLY PLAYED songs on your account. I know many of you may be new to FFR and may not even have 10 yet. Don't panic, you have plenty of time to get the songs in. Averaging at only 10 songs a day, while lots of players get anywhere from 50 to 100. If you seriously can't do that in 2 weeks, let me know and I'll settle something out. I can't place you with no songs played, this is why the requirement is a bit higher. 3.) Don't bother botting/cheating/etc. Pretty standard rule, if you're caught you will be immediately eliminated and reported to an admin or moderator. 4.) Please don't cause a drama on the fourms. It's easy to get into a heated debate about tournaments, which is fine, but don't let it escalate. If you have a problem with the rules or others, notify me or a mod (if necessary). 5.) At least for this time around, there will be no players allowed to compete with handicaps (pettanko, index, speedmod slow, etc). :P Maybe next time if things run smoothly. 6.) NO ONE ELSE IS TO PLAY THE ROUND'S SONG AND COMPETE FOR YOU. This is a tournament to show YOUR skill, not you're friend's or families'. ~Divisions~ There will be 4 total division from weakest to strongest skilled players. Each division will be given one song to play per round. Songs will become gradually more challenging as rounds progress. Opposite of normal tournaments, this one has a skill cap instead of a skill requirement. AAAing 7s the skill cap. I may make an exception if you have one LOW 8 AAAd (The Past for example), but don't expect it if you have many 7 AAAs or SDGs on 8s/9s. Under "Rounds & Scores", names will be colored to indicate where you stand in your division. Green means you are safe, and will not be eliminated. Teal/Cyan means you have not yet submitted a score and may be eliminated. Red means if you don't improve your score, you will be eliminated. Brown means you are in a tiebreaker for the round. Black means you have already been eliminated. Instead of a score, you're final place will be shown. Note~ winning the tiebreaker does not mean you win the round. You must STILL SUBMIT a score for the current round's song. ~Submissions~ First of all, a replay does NOT count as a submission. All submissions MUST be a screenshot of the score for the song. If you don't know how to take a screenshot~ Cropping your images is much appreciated, but not necessary. Make sure your don't accidentally crop out the data inside the green boxes here: ~Prize Pot~ Donations may be sent to me with a PM including a screen shot of the credits sent. Current Pot: 503,652 -5,000 for Spon Con 1 -10,000 for Spon Con 2 Competitors~ Zekramcross Fooshftw Norista Ksl33zy24 sky8620 magicturbo rusty_spoons TheThong (had to drop) PrawnSkunk typing like wat popsicle_3000 Charlotte Kelly sparksrflyin kayotik Altivu x_lambourghini_x squishy013 MracY NeoMasterPie zorack24 Kozary 379421 Cyr ohsosilly Gamemaster789 Puzzler64 emo1555 takumi000 devonin catzeye21138 NickGallagher7 sayuncle990 LifeWithDeth tigresslake KF91 Tomahawk! Re: ScarletSky's Amateur FFR Tournament
As I said in the thread, if I'm allowed to compete in this, I will gladly do so. If not, I completely understand. [: And I'll send some credits your way here soon.

A pros vs. Joes type thing, almost. The best of FFR Vs The.. Not best. You get six divisions. Except this time the divisions are on a team. D3 Needs to index it. With their pinkies. Blind folded. D2 Needs to one hand it. And D1 gets to play however they want. You add up everybody in the divisions score from the round. Whichever division loses, the lowest scoring player gets kicked out.. Or perhaps Then they do an elimination round within their division, still with a handicap proper to their division. When only one division is left the prize is split equally among the players. Ho humm.. I like. Me gusta. Back on topic: Last edited by NickGallagher7; 12-18-2011 at 11:44 AM.. Reason: Picture was freakin huge. |

Re: ScarletSky's Amateur FFR Tournament
I'm somewhere between really excited about how well I did, and really disappointed at how close I am to AAA :/

Re: ScarletSky's Amateur FFR Tournament
That is a great score! You shouldn't be disappointed at all. It should encourage you to aim for that AAA, especially since you're so close to getting it. =)
