Daily Stats Incentive

I had two suggestions that would promote activity on the site and it draws on one of the most powerful hooks FFR has to offer:

Scoreboards :P

What if at the end of each day, the site gave credits to the people with the top 10 GT at the end of the day? It wouldn't have to be a whole lot, because they've already earned quite a few to get on there, but it's an incentive to get on the list. New players wouldn't necessarily be out of the running, but would have to work a little harder to get on there compared to veterans playing more dense files. It could look like this:

1st: 10k
2nd: 9k
3rd:8k
...
10th: 1k

That would be just the first step. Next, you would need a scoreboard for the number of times a player has made the top 10, as well as a list of everyone who's made the top spot and how many times they have done so. There could be a token file that unlocks after you've been #1 ten times on the site. There could also be a record for the most consecutive days in the top 10 or consecutive days on the top slot.

I think this would make the Daily Stats page a much more visited place, and promote activity on FFR, what do you guys think?

Good idea. I don't think the process could be automated (at least very easily) though, so it might be a little difficult to implement.

instead of doing gt, it might be better to do something like greatest decrease in average rank or something, because it'll give more incentive to play a more diverse range of songs for the majority of the players, rather than whoring one or two songs for gt

I thought about that, but it takes me an hour at least to drop my Av rank by 1, whereas someone who hasn't played Super Mario could drop by over 400. Even on a percentage basis, it would still end up lopsided.

Edit:// However, what if we did it by perfect count instead of GT? Whoring would still help, but not as much as it helps GT.

i don't think this is a very good idea because i have 20 alt accounts and a lot of time on my hands o.o
