Re: Blizzard in the Northeast
Where I'm living in NH is supposed to be seeing at least two feet with this storm. I really hope it ends up being about half of that at most. I'm from MD... I'm not exactly used to that much snow and the cold here has already been making me hate winter. :/ I'm working 9-5 tonight, so I have to sit at home and watch the snow get progressively worse before I leave. The forecast for the time that I'll be at work is "Blizzard". FML.

Re: Blizzard in the Northeast
I'm in the 30 - 40 inches.
This gave me half a foot of snow in an hour, can't even open my front door anymore. I think I have over 2 feet of snow right now. |

Nah, my neighbors never have lights on and we only have like 2-3 streetlights on this street.

Re: Blizzard in the Northeast
Posting from one of the only neighborhoods in Smithfield that still has power. Underground utilities are goddamn amazing.
Snow is 2ft at its lowest, up to 3ft in places. Natural drifts up to 4ft, and the "plug" at the end of the driveway caused by the snowplow is legit taller than I am (I'm 6'6 tall for reference) Was pretty windy last night. Farther north like up in Massachusetts got it worse but it was still howling through the trees and knocking branches down and stuff. Not as bad as Hurricane Sandy though. Took 2 hours to shovel our driveway even with a super turbo snowblower. On the plus side, the woods behind our house are pretty as fuck right now. Trees covered in snow lookin' all scenic and stuff, its like National Geographic shit back there. I'm gonna go put on my boots and take me a walk in the snowy forest pce

Re: Blizzard in the Northeast
Well, Long Island is a damn mess, everywhere on Suffolk County is 2+ ft. of snow.
Cars have been abandoned all over major roads like 25A and Sunrise Highway, and 90% of roads are closed. 7k homes without power, with 3.7k of them in the town of Brookhaven (where I live). Thankfully, we've kept power so far, so the worst part will just be carving out the cars and helping out the neighbors. I can't see over some of the plow piles ;__;

Re: Blizzard in the Northeast
Might put some pictures up from my area (right in the bullseye) tomorrow, I literally can't leave my house until the plow decides to finally try and come on by. Also there's talk that there could be another blizzard a week down the road.
