Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion
Only played D4-D7, so giving reviews to that
Over The Bridge: File was accurate and all... just felt very draggy though. The climax at the end made up for it. File's alright. Requiem -Dies Irae-: This at first, looked really rigid and awkward. When I played it, it felt... really really smooth actually. My only issue is that 12th polyrhythm in the 16th dense JS section, might be a bit too excessive. Great file though. The Steel Monster Above The City: The bursts felt a little rigid personally, maybe it's just me though. Some parts in the fix made the file a lot better, but that roll part... lmfao. Not a bad file though, just not my cup of tea overall. Wraith: This file reminds me of a faster Crow's Ghost, which is a good thing because Crow's Ghost is one of my favourite files in the engine. Wraith's layering is so aggressive and the file captures every moment of the song quite well. Patterns flow very well (better on SM for sure, on FFR it's a little more rigid) personally, very replayable (especially on rates) and just all in all a very challenging hard file. I'll definitely play this a lot more. By far my favourite file in the tourney so far. |

I hate those roll parts like the ones in For FFR, Silly Symphony, Kono spoon and Mathsma Attack.
Especially since it's a tournament file, AJ probably wouldn't have chosen the song had he seen the fixes earlier. Last edited by ___________; 11-8-2013 at 09:39 PM.. Reason: oops |

Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion
I actually sent the fixes back in August, AJ has said it was a matter of him making a mistake and not finding them until I made a note of the version in-game being incorrect.

It likely wouldn't have shown up in D6 if I was aware of those fixes.

A friendly reminder to all simfilers: if you noticed an error in the uploading of your file, please let one of the staff members know. It is your responsibility to do so as soon as possible. If you are late in letting us know, your file may not be eligible to be reuploaded with the fix you intended. (I haven't set a particular period of time yet)

Just for archival/proof purposes, VisD has let me know about Time (Soular Remix) being the incorrect version as well. I will address this tomorrow.

Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion
there's this gap of piss that we need to suppress for a christmas tree
EDIT: Was there ever a round where everyone AAA'd their file? |

Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion
If I remember correctly, it happened in the 4th Official Tournament in the Masters Division -- the round of 8 was given Battle Theme #37, and all players AAA'd. The tiebreaker for that round was Holy Orders.

Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion
No way? Maybe that's why so many of us D2 players found it a lot harder to AAA than this rounds song.

It's like 15 seconds longer though so that makes up for that

Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion
I just noticed that Over the Bridge is by the same artist as MASCARADA. The artist on Over the Bridge ought to be changed to Takajii; G5 Project looks like some kind of compilation group.
Also, any word from VisD on the proper artist for Time (Soular Order Remix)? Proper tagging is just a bit important to me :/ |

Thank you very much for pointing that out - we do care about those discrepencies! I'll fix it right away.

Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion
I wasn't aware of the FFR convention for remix credit when I was doing up the sm file for Time. I say go ahead and change the artist to Zimmer instead, I guess

Re: 9th Official Tournament: Round 3 Discussion
Hardly a discrepency. Over the Bridge is written by Takajii, but performed by the collection of G5 Project.
Though, it's been done with every file so far, so whatever.
