Default Is anyone going to go see the movie Avatar?

Just to be frank I've been watching the trailers... and it looks like vomit wrapped up in CGI...

I agree as well. It looks like it has a lot of potential, but the plot just seems too minimal.

Saw it earlier today, was pretty good actually, a little dramaish at some parts but overall the movie was pretty cool, especially for the length. It's definitely worth it imo.

Mmm, exactly. What a waste of money. The critics who reviewed it were obviously paid off.

I just learned that the movie tailors don't do it justice and it's actually extremely good. I will see it then comment further. Also what do you mean it was a little dramaish? Do you just want to watch **** explode for 2 hours? Also saying they could have taken money out of the production cost and donate it is retarded. They'll see that money, plus a lot more back. Also I wouldn't assume the critics were paid off, when I saw the trailers I thought it lacked substance but if the actors in it and people like Jay Lenno say it's amazing, I don't think the trailers are doing it justice. They've been working on this movie for 15 years apparently.

Yeah I heard that too. You went to yahoo reviews didn't you?
I looked on there and just about all of yahoo users said it was garbage.
A few B-'s and A's, but what I saw the it lacked story.

I'd like to see it if I'm able too.

15 years? Are you serious? That's ridiculous!

Ehhhh, I'm going to wait til it gets on DVD, the reviews are waaay too mixed for me to spend $9.00 dollars + gas on a movie.

Im going tomorrow around noon heard it was really good from a few friends. I honestly don't care how much they spent to make it. It wasn't my money and im still making the same amount.

James Cameron had the idea for 15 years, it's only been in production for 4. Also, don't mind my comments, it really is a good movie imo, worth the money to see it. Really don't want to spoil it for anyone so you can find out what I mean by what I had said when you've seen it for yourself.

'that 300mil could feed 300 thousand homeless dudes' misses the point

you can't magically turn money into the infrastructure to grow the produce and the mechanisms to distribute it, money spent on cinematic technology remains spent on cinematic technology. in addition to that, in comparison to the multi billions and trillions that are spent on a governmental level on waste and overhead (like overincarceration, the war on drugs, the war on terror, the defense budget, etc)

anyway that said wow avatar is ****ing awesome

it lacks story or something? lmao who cares. you're not going to see it for the story, you're going to see it for ridiculous alien visuals

Just saw this movie. It was incredible. The story was so in-depth and had very powerful feel to it. There was real emotion behind every moment in this movie. Everything in the movie was amazingly beautiful.

Probably one of the best movies I have ever seen, I really recommend it. Brings up a lot of interesting concepts that are interesting to think about.

Was talking to Izzy about this on AIM, but it seems like a pretty damn cool movie worth checking out. I'll let you know my opinion when I see it.

Movie looks pretty tite imo. Apparently a bunch of gays were pissed off at the movie directors and **** because there aren't any gay people in it and it's a new race of people so there should be gays. I'm like lmao what.
+Lol at you guys who pay 9.00$ to see it, my gf works at the movie theater so I get in for free whenever I want to go, and free drinks/snacks. 8D

I buy childrens tickets from the machine when I go to see a movie. I used to work at a theater so I hate buying movie tickets, and I would never pay for movie theater food.
