CNN just showed a lady live from Chicago I think via HOLOGRAM!

She even made a Princess Leia remark!!

I thought it'd be like 5 more years before the first hologram.

It just happened. Less than 5 minutes before I posted this, I believe. I'll see if I can find a video of it.

It's not a hologram. It's merely a camera trick.

If you were in the studio, you would not have seen a damn thing standing on that spot.

Why do you think Blitzer didn't know where to look half the time?

CNN has done this camera trick before. They projected a graph onto a moving disc. The disc is just a disc. You wouldn't see that graph in the studio. It's just projected on in realtime through the camera.

I kinda figured that, but I refused to believe it.

There are very advanced and working holograms now, though. I can't say whether this is legit or not, though.

I didn't "think" anything. This technology is six years old and I saw it when it debuted.

It's very likely holograms will be coming in the near future. The kinks are already being worked out.

There are even holographic instruments like harps that you play by strumming a beam of light. It might not be much, but it's a 3D image, not just a laser here and there.

I am not arguing that Holograms are good or bad.

I am merely stating the fact that what was on CNN tonight was not a hologram.

I know. I wasn't trying to make you look like the bad guy. I just wanted whoever read your posts to not get disappointed. Holograms, holographs, whatever, are already becoming a reality.

It's the same special effects they use to super impose people in movies and television.

ONLY IN REAL TIME.

That's pretty cool, but it doesn't really have any bearing on the idea of holograms other than the fact the the special effect was made to look that way. It's like watching Back to the Future and getting excited about hoverboards; no, they're special effects.
