semi-pettanko FFR scores
For those of you who don't know, semi-pettanko is a style of playing that involves the use of your middle and ring fingers for both hands. This is significantly more difficult to play than a normal spread setup (index and middle fingers), but less so than the ridiculous pettanko method (pinkie and ring fingers). Regardless, it's a physically inefficient way to play. I played a whole bunch of FFR songs lately with this style. Why? Just to challenge myself - it's more interesting.
Because not many people play with this style, even for fun, I personally think these are really good scores for this play method - but I don't have much to compare to anyways. This song I never FCed previously - until I used the unorthodox method myself lol. Choofers wanted me to play a really long song, so I actually complied... I can see myself AAAing this with semi-pettanko (I already did so with spread). Almost a sdg FC on this low FGO. Considering certain sections of this song I did surprisingly well. FC destroyed on the one-handed trill after the long 32nd wall hahaha. Honestly I play better semi-pettanko on this song than with spread. Nonmirror this time. lol are you KIDDING ME So yeah. As an FFR player, you are handicapping yourself when playing semi-pettanko, but that doesn't mean you can't get good PA scores still. |

Re: semi-pettanko FFR scores
Einstein and Tell PA are both ridiculous
Did this while playing semi-pettanko on just my right hand (I had just sliced open my right index finger at work the night before, couldn't play normally for almost a month) edit: full semi-pettanko on both hands I can play somewhat well, low SDG some of the easier FGOs and AAA most FMOs still...pettanko on the other hand, lol Last edited by One Winged Angel; 04-23-2012 at 01:16 AM.. |
