Default Turn Fail off Option?

I'm pretty sure this has been suggested before, but I want to refresh your memories.

There should be an option that turns your health bar off in FFR R1, so you can practice the songs all the way through without failing. But, if you turn off fail, the server does not record your score, so it's basically just "practice". Some people saying using replays works too, but they have avmisses, and well, it's better to practice the real thing so you can overcome mental blocks on songs and such, and practice parts that you can't normally do.

Thoughts?

Definitely agree.
As long as you can make it so the scores aren't recorded so that people can't whore, I love it.

and for
my idea..of being able to chose the time of the song to play, thoughts?

Good idea. It could kind of be like "Edit Songs mode" in Stepmania?

Although, both ideas might take up a lot of server space and a lot of coding would need to be done.

Fail off option would be amazing. The time scroller would be nice, but just the fail off is a good start.

Or maybe a fail off where IF in fact you fail in the song, the score locks where it was in the db, but it still shows how you did altogether at the end.

A fail off option, but you get no points or credits if you fail during the course of the song.

I'm not really a fan of either suggestion. I spent many hours when I first started playing whoring Straight To Video so I'd get better. If we change things like that all the new players have an insane advantage. I think we should stick to basics and you get better on songs by being forced to.

Sorry, that's just my opinion.

This would be a good idea if the health judgment was more strict. But it's not strict; it's ridiculously lenient so failing doesn't occur often anyway. And if you 'DO' fail, you should practice on easier songs.

This would just be a waste of time to implement imo.

As good of an idea as it is, I don't feel it's necessary.

I have to agree with DBX, if you're failing a song you should move on to easier ones.

Well, the idea is pretty good for the beginners, but I don't think the experts would use it because they can pass every single song.
