Re: Homeless in Austin Texas
1. Sell off whatever you have that you don't need (Craigslist is good here)
2. Find local work 3. Find a hostel or shelter or friend who will let you crash A lot of advice here is good too (although this is for San Diego, same logic applies for Austin): http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...5193721AACUe7S |

Re: Homeless in Austin Texas
Yeah why are you homeless now
If it's because of something stupid you did, the solution may be easier If not, then there are lots of resources online that will help guide you with this stuff |

Re: Homeless in Austin Texas
give the short version then
context/info is important here since it addresses what connections/resources you have and don't have |

Re: Homeless in Austin Texas
better tell FFR
seriously though if i were you i would try to sneak into a Costco and live in there. sleep on top of the super high shelves and live off of samples thru the day while you scavenge newspapers from the hotdog/pizza court to look at the classifieds or use their display computers for job hunting.

Re: Homeless in Austin Texas
it wouldn't hurt to at least try to smooth things over and apologize/at least ask for your stuff back.
Unless you really beat the shit out of him then you're probably SOL and need to focus on getting work ASAP. Craigslist is a quick and easy way to find odd-jobs. |

Re: Homeless in Austin Texas
Seek out homeless shelters
look for odd-jobs turn this situation with a pursuit of happyness twist! of course you could always panhandle on the bus/subway to fund your drug habit but that isn't a good officiated christian idea |

Re: Homeless in Austin Texas
6hrs? I was homeless at 14 for 9 months and spent 80% of that time sleeping outdoors, builds character. You're gonna need to make the most of every remaining resource you have, and ffs if you have to sleep outdoors, make it somewhere dry/sheltered or you could be in for some rough nights.

http://lifeworksaustin.org/
http://www.frontsteps.org/ http://www.foundationhomeless.org/ http://www.austinstreet.org/index.html A few Austin-based resources I found for you with a quick google. also. http://www.thn.org/ Edit: wasn't implying any sort of pissing contest, just suggesting that after going through it myself I know what you are in for and what you should be focussing on. 6hrs in seems like you still have some time to get some sort of short-term assistance to get you through the weekend. Good luck mate~
