Re: i bought a house
The crawlspace thing doesn't sound like a big issue. With homes from the 60s, or any age really, the only thing that matters in the basement is foundational problems. If there aren't any, its fine. If the basement is unfinished, check for vertical cracks along the concrete walls. And upstairs, dips in the flooring. These will majorly affect your resale value, or if you don't care about that, you could knock off thousands from your buying price if the previous owners won't do anything to fix it. But since you didn't say anything regarding foundation problems in the inspection, you're probably fine.
I know this because I'm also trying to buy a house right now. Put in offers for two places but got out bid both times >_> Last edited by Rebirth0; 02-20-2017 at 11:05 PM.. |

Re: i bought a house
Good luck with the house!
I just bought in May, but I bought brand new construction. Owning is great, I'm sure you'll love it Be diligent during that inspection though (looks like you have been) and do not buy unless you're comfortable! Remember that a house isn't an asset, it's a liability, so only go ahead if it feels right. You'll know deep down. Trust your gut on whether or not the issues are something you're comfortable with.
