yeah the televised nature of it--especially for those interested in this tournament like i am--certainly raises its stature and it's not like it's the ==WORST INJURY EVER== I guess

.....but it's still pretty brutal. glad the guy is, um, "ok". CBS is reporting that his scholarship might be dropped because of this, ugh college sports are so fucked up that way. i hope they wouldn't do that (i don't think they would just because of the bad press but still)

God, that was kind of awful to watch, the way it was wiggling around just because of the fall. Damn.

As of me, I just despise when sports injuries become the main preoccupation of an athlete life. I think the psychological pain of knowing you'll never be able to practice what you love surpasses by far the physical affliction. It's even more harmful when it's the only thing that television centers know you for.
Like with the Richard Zednik case:

Ouch, that really, really has to hurt. One hell of an injury; hope the guy recovers alright. The sad part about this for me though is that this is the first time I saw this and right away after seeing the injury I knew it happened because he landed wrong. Still though... best wishes for this guy, nobody deserves that kind of injury.

On the plus side, it makes you realize how supportive and caring a team can be.
