Suggestions.
I think there should be a thread like this.
It might be a little too general, but whatever. Just post albums/movies/shows/books etc. that you like, and try to tell someone else another album/show/movie/books that they'll like based on what they posted. To start, Music: Radiohead Burial (mostly Untrue but debut is cool too) Miles Davis Devics Post-rock in general (Sigur Ros; Godspeed You! Black Emporer) TV On The Radio Movies: Wall-E Spirited Away Juno There Will Be Blood (mostly recent movies but I don't want to find other stuff). Don't really watch TV, so don't really have anything I can say there. Books: America (by E.R. Frank). The Book Thief (by Markus Zusak). Also, I love the anime Monster. Kgo.

Music:
Ditto on Radiohead Moby Star Ocean III: Till the End of Time OST (Virtual Image is epic techno-y battle music) Movies: Mononoke Hime (Robertsona, you'll most likely like this, also a Miyazaki flick) Bridge to Terabithia (Non anime movie that made me tear up a bit) 5 Centimeters Per Second (5cm/s) - Anime movie, much lauded for it's superb graphics. Wall-E (I second that movie!) Shrek trilogy - I <3 Puss in Boots XD Everyone should of course, check out Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars series of movies. Oh, and the Matrix trilogy (and Animatrix). Ah, and Lethal weapon (4 movies). I like a lot of movies, but for quality reasons, I'll leave em out. Series (non anime): Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis - Great Sci-fi stuff) Star Trek Voyager - Often maligned for being 'different', it does it quite well IMO Sanctuary - Uses same techniques found in 300, basically a supernatural flick with mystery elements. Series (anime, and manga): Air Kanon Utawarerumono History's Greatest Disciple Kenichi! - If you like action/martial arts, and comedy. DB/DBZ - Same reason as above Rozen Maiden The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Chobits (If you like or can at least tolerate ecchi) Books (I don't read as much as I used to): Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series - It can wear on some people, but you should at least check out the first one ("Wizard's First Rule"). AVOID THE TV SERIES (At the very least, the first ep/special is horrendous) If you like the above, Wayfarer Redemption series (Trilogy I think). Chronicles of Narnia - All the Narnia Books in one package, awesome. Artemis Fowl - Sure, a kids/teens book, but still great. That's about it, offhand? |

Re: Suggestions.
ok so question: is the rest of the Enders series as good as Enders Game? cuz I read that and it was pretty cool even though the cover and semi large print made me think it was a book for kids at first. Then Ender kills a kid at like age 7(?) and i was like whoa

The first book in series are generally the best ones. Enders Shadow, however, is very good. It's the story from Beans perspective. --- Enders Game, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, Children of the Mind, Enders Shadow, Shadow of the Hegemon.

Re: Suggestions.
if you like nubbin, try aloysiusrexford (aloysiusrexford.newgrounds.com). he's harder to listen to and glitchier, but imo more rewarding. if you like spirited away and whatever, and nobuo uematsu, listen to joe hisaishi's compositions. you probably already have, but they're cool.

Music
Depends on what kind of music you are into now really. If you're really into electronic/techno then I can't recommend an alternative rock band to you. No matter how great the band is in my eyes there is a very little chance you will like it. Movies WALL-E Bolt(Shaddup I liked it.) Charlie Barlett Accepted(Best college movie I've seen.) Anything by Monty Python(In case you haven't seen them yet.) Spaceballs Series Scrubs That 70s Show Big Bang Theory Chowder Any old Nick show. Books Anything by Walter Moers Anything by Jasper Fforde Scar Tissue-Anthony Kiedis(Best auto-biography I've read.)
