Default Computer Monitor

Hey guys! looking for a good gaming monitor and I am not sure what to look for. Decided to trash my old one and buy an awesome one.

a few things:

1. willing to spend up to $125 (cheaper is always good)

2. I mainly play games and watch netflix

3. Computer specs if that matters:

Compaq-Presario
Processor Genuine Intel(R) CPU 2160 @ 1.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
Memory 2046MB RAM
Hard Drive 310 GB
ATI Radeon HD 4650

lol inorite

Any help would be awesome as I do not know what to look for in terms of a good/reliable one.

thanks!

ASUS monitors are definitely the cheapest with a really high quality of production

if you're willing to shell out up to $155, get this.

I've got this monitor right now

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009316

BUT, I got it on sale for $115 with free shipping. I've had it for over a year now and have 0 complaints.

you really shouldn't get an LCD monitor if your budget is only $125. anything you will find is going to have either really bad color, really bad input lag/refresh rate, or both.

you would be better off finding a decent CRT monitor (used or not) since they aren't capped at 60 Hz refresh rate like cheap LCD monitors are. additionally, they don't have nearly as much input lag as LCD displays do by the nature of the technology. since you specified "gaming monitor", both of those things should be your top priority, and an LCD monitor isn't nearly as good on either front as a CRT monitor is.

This is what I have been using for years: http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors...-31332519.html

I'm sure I wouldn't notice any small annoyances. To be honest I just wanted to find something fresh since I don't really care about being the best possible gamer like when I was a teen.

Both links looks pretty solid but I am still open to suggestions

EDIT: I do have two CRT monitors (and I did notice the input lag when I switched to LCD mainly in FPS games) one from the windows 95 era and another from XP era, both have some serious issues. 95 has serious color issues and XP has this really odd problem where this scrambled line takes up 20% of the bottom of the screen.

But I still prefer LCD these days. :P

Adjustable screen (rotates forward & back) + Has cool led touch-screen buttons on bottom although I did not see that in the examples
