Re: Too many songs?
I personally think there is never going to be too many songs. Always good to have variety, and some.

Re: Too many songs?
I've had a problem with the song quantity for a while now. Not especially the shear number of files put into the game, but the fact that a lot of the newer files are so much worse then the old files.
(Exclude the historical songs for a moment) what song that's been addded recently feels like it flows to the heart of the song. Halogen is a good example of this. It's one of my favorite files because the stepchart flows so well with the music. It's difficulty is irrelevant. I haven't played one song from any of the recent batches that equates even close to songs like Halogen, Szamar Madar, Turbulence or Nova Pulsar. (granted I haven't played them all)

Re: Too many songs?
Well then that depends on what you think is a "good" file, or more specifically, what you consider "good flow". Personally, I thought Nova Pulsar is a half abomination - flow included, but that's just me.

Long songs are fun, endurance/accuracy is a skill too. p.s. About 80% of the music in ffr isn't within my music tastes, but I am a sucker for rhythm games

Well you have to admit, ffr got you into certain styles of music

I was mostly referring to the really easy songs. The long 9's and up are pretty fun and a nice challenge. |

Re: Too many songs?
I think in a way a lot of the older historic FFR Files are better than a lot or at least some of the newer ones simply because they've been around longer so I'm more used to them. Though a lot of the new songs are still really good, there would be only a few I disagree with, and I can't even remember what files lol

Anyway, I'm 18 going on 19, and now I mostly listen to electronic music over anything.

Re: Too many songs?
FFR got me into a lot of music overall....I still don't listen to everything on this site outside of FFR, but I definitely have a greater appreciation for more genres. If nothing else, FFR growing will continue to add good music (or rather....bizarre in some cases) to my collection or tastes overall. I think growth is good. If it's "too big", then perhaps competitive FFR isn't for you.

I also want to say that I can still dislike a song but enjoy its chart (and similarly, like a song, but don't care about its chart). So it's a two-pronged mechanism - it's hard for me to really dislike both aspects. |
