Re: Xoon 5: The Transition Submissions Open
Finally submitted my file. Uh, here's some important info on it.
A few technical aspects I'd like to address: M23 - Initially the colored jumps preceding the 8ths were more prominent, but they soon crossed over as the 8ths segued into predominance. In fact it's actually a simplified pattern because the colored notes don't quite align at the point of the 8th's culmination. M32B3 - Unfortunately this trill alone wasn't sufficient once the other sounds were introduced. However, since the 8ths don't occur every other note like a standard runningmen configuration, placing them as single steps would mar fluency since they'd be misconstrued with sections of the trill. Jumps were the best option by default. M36B3 - While Jordan was playing this segment he did so by running his thumb from the far left bass notes to around (perhaps a bit before) middle C which is exactly 24 notes. Now considering this, its unintelligibility, plus the assist tick, and producing a concise number for the sake of pattern configuration, exactly 20 notes seemed best. M37 - Most bass notes were omitted here because they detracted from the notes I wanted to emphasize. M65 - Sadly this jump stream presented a sort of stepping impasse for me. The bass and treble clef aligned terribly with the bass preceding the treble by a notable margin. Since I didn't like the prospect of a dump pattern (I tried it actually) the only solution was to place whatever sound was more prominent/crisp. Obviously this was the treble clef (another best-by-default situation). M72 - I didn't layer the two potential jumps because one followed the last single note which I wanted to accentuate and adding a subsequent jump would have marred the effect. Took me long enough .

It's a very... well.. "unique" file. I hope the guys like it. An embarrassingly-long 15 hours or so. . I'm not too happy about that. I'm too much of a perfectionist. I'm into details that 99% of people aren't gonna notice.

Re: Xoon 5: The Transition Submissions Open
Submitted a major project for this. I think it may be a personal record in terms of length in creation - more than 30 hours went into it. I have a feeling it will be one of those files where I have to explain every detail to the judges...

Re: Xoon 5: The Transition Submissions Open
Because that's what it took to sync it correctly. It's a great song with amazing stepping potential, and I do not have an issue spending excessive amounts of time to step it properly. Besides, it's not anything new to me - every sim I've made since Summer has taken, on average, 20-25 hours to make (with the exception of a techno song - that was more like 6 or so.)
