Default A brief fable

On Friday night, I woke up under my desk vomiting with stabbing shoulder pain and missing eyeglasses. Went to bed. After a sleepless night, I couldn't move my arm without experiencing severe pain. My brother took me to the ER the following afternoon, where I got x-rays of my arms, a blood lab, a CT-scan and an MRI on my head, and an EEG. I was also treated for moderate facial bruising. The tests returned normally, apart from a fracture in my right humerus.

After 20 long hours, they finally released me with an arm sling and no specific explanation of what happened. I eventually found my glasses, broken, behind my desk. When I got back to my computer, I found an FFR results screen.

From what I can piece together, I somehow passed out while playing FFR, hit my face on my desk, fell off my chair and broke my arm.

Kids, play FFR responsibly. This is not a game.

The tests returned no evidence of a seizure, and since myself and my family have no history of epilepsy, the neurologist said it's unlikely but possible.

I do have a migraine condition that can present stroke-like symptoms; I think it is most likely related to this.

Sounds like you had convulsions, but not enough to be considered epilepsy since EEG turned up nothing.

Did you stay up way too long or accumulated too much fatigue?

It sounds like you had a reallyyyy bad case of a migraine. Passing out is a rare occurrence, but can happen with migraines.

Also, with what Hakulyte said - were you fatigued?

Hope you're okay!

No, I was very well-rested. I'm extremely lazy during the summer.

Partly. They're mostly caused by heat/humidity and especially low air pressure, and they can worsen from very bright light or very loud sounds. I was also a bit malnourished and dehydrated at the time, if that means anything.

Thanks. I can only hope it isn't epilepsy - it's a very disabling condition, both practically and legally. Scary stuff.

I honestly wouldn't be too worried about epilepsy if there's not even much circumstantial evidence to support it. Under various factors even healthy individuals can black out. The collateral damage sucks though.
