Uh Oh...
So I finished reading all the faqs about FFR R1 simfile creation, picked a song out, downloaded stepmania, and was ready to go. I open stepmania...and bleh.
My computer wont run it without getting an error report. Am i royally screwed? Is there another way to step a song that doesnt involve stepmania? Any help would be VERY much appriciated.

Re: Uh Oh...
there are ways... they're just not fun and require you to know what you're doing. SM is used by 99.9%+ of the people... and the less than .1% who don't know what they're doing to do it other ways.

Re: Uh Oh...
Yeah, it can be done through Notepad, but it's so much extra work, it isn't worth it.
Sucks that SM doesn't work for you...what kind of error are you getting? There are a lot of SM gurus around here, so you can probably get some help if you tell us what the problem is. |

Re: Uh Oh...
There is also another program for creating Simfiles. Created specifically for FFR. It's somewhere on the forums try to find it.

Though I don't think it was made specifically for making files for FFR. Anyway, yeah, tell us what error you're getting, someone might be able to help you out with your problem. Last edited by [TeRa]; 10-1-2008 at 01:13 AM.. |

Re: Uh Oh...
simple question for ya... do you have any files in your Songs folder? i think SM will crash if you don't have at least 1 in there.
needs to be specific too: Songs/Another Folder/Another Folder that has the actual files in it, usually called the song name/files so... like: Songs/Keyboard Uberpack/Awesome Song/Awesome.dwi Songs/Keyboard Uberpack/Awesome Song/Awesome.sm Songs/Keyboard Uberpack/Awesome Song/Awesome.mp3 gotta have at least the .sm and the mp3, with the basic info of the .sm filled out. You can download levels individually from our simfile database, http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/sims

Re: Uh Oh...
Thanks for the concern guys, i figured out what was wrong!
I didnt have everything in the .sm file filled out, and it was named "Song.sm" instead of the actual song name. It was a generic windows error report box that i was getting, so i thought it was something technical that was wrong, but i double checked what Tass said and i found the real problem! Thanks again for your friendly support! ^^
