Spread (aka all fingers) is pretty much how most keyboard rhythm games are played. Beatmania is played like that, and obviously you can't just use 2 fingers especially when there are several doubles, triples, quads and so on. 4 keys is just too confined for songs now, and index just isn't enough to cover triples and what not.

never even tried index on stepmania because that would just be dumb

Yea, that is silly. I really haven't played index in years though. I play some ffr on spread a couple times a week for 20 minutes or so out of boredom.

I remember the good ol' days when I played index. Though I have moved on to spread recently. I got a 4 good FC on Vertex Beta, then decided to try spread. In a few months time I was better at spread than index, and there you have it.

I am a serious index player, I dont think i will ever play spread xD it just doesn't feel right plus Iv used index for my whole ffr carrier (almost 3 years)

Hitting triples/chords with index doesn't feel right. and you fail at spelling.

Awkward patterns are the best man. Running men, spins (are bloody hard.) and even jacks make the file fun.. Some triples are fine you can drop in the extra finger then remove it as needed. Just like files like Scythe of 13 would get auto rejected, or bloodmeat, While files like the prototype Ivaltek, maybe one like Szmar madar would be accepted, you get what I'm saying?
